April is once again my month to teach and I am so excited! This coming Sunday I’m planning to teach the lesson “why was a restoration necessary?”

April Come Follow Me: Why was a restoration necessary - I have created a handout to give the girls so they can write notes about those that helped prepare for a restoration. To close I would like to talk about what we can do to receive the blessings of the restored gospel. And then challenge the girls to write down what they are going to do to help there family now and in the future receive those blessings.

I want to start the lesson by asking the girls why a restoration was necessary, after we discuss it a little bit I would like to read 1 Nephi 13:24-29.

(As a side note in one of my institute classes in college we talked about this section of scripture a lot. In verse 24 I have underlined mouth and written in the column the word Targums and in verse 26 the word hand is underlined with writings written in the column. At the bottom of the page I have written the definition of Targums -oral recitation and interpretation of scripture. {the telephone game is a good example of Targums} Also something of interest is that the Gutenberg Press was invented in Aprox 1450 Ad and Columbus did not come to America until 1492.)

Then I plan on watching Robert D. Hales talk Preparations for the Restoration and the Second Coming: “My Hand Shall Be over Thee”.
