This past Sunday we decided to take a drive we didn’t know were we where going when we left but ended up deciding to drive to Scranton, PA. The drive up was nice, it would be even better when everything has some color. But we did see a few “mountains”.

When we arrived in Scranton it wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s an old rundown town. There is a college there which was unexpected.

We drove around the town and found the red brick Penn Paper building shown in the intro to “The Office”.

We also went to the Steamtown Mall. About half of the mall has no stores in it, so that was kind of crazy.

In the parking garage under the mall the walls are covered in murals.

The Welcome to Scranton sign seen in The Office is in the mall. There is a new sign as you come into the city in place of the one seen in The Office.

A quick stop for a picture at Alfredo’s Pizza – mentioned in the office.

And we headed for home. Now we can say we have visited Scranton, PA – Scratch that off the Travel Bucket List.

In total our Sunday Drive was about 7 hours of driving.

Have you ever visited Scranton? Is it on your bucket list?

Scranton, PA is the setting of the fictional tv series the office. Though the series was filmed in California, the intro shows a little bit of Scranton. thekeeledeal.com
