5 Essentials to Buy for Cold Season

As soon as the weather starts to get cooler I know I need to get ready for cold season.

Though I wish it wasn’t true usually someone gets a cold each time the seasons change.

5 Essentials to buy for cold season

While colds are annoying and I really wish we could completely avoided them they are a part of life.

Since I know that at least once each year someone in our family is going to get a cold I like to prepare and have things on hand to get rid of colds as quickly as possible.

Cold Season Essentials

For each family your cold season essentials will probably look a little bit different. Here are some of my favorite essentials to buy before cold season hits.

Tissues

When that runny nose starts you know you want something soft to wipe your nose with.

I like to get a case of tissues and have boxes throughout the house so they are easy to grab when needed. Plus you can keep a box near you when you’re not feeling well.

Vitamin C

I like to keep a couple of different types of vitamin c on hand for when we aren’t feeling the best.

Emergen-C

Emergen-c vitamin c drink mix not only has vitamin c it also has antioxidants, B Vitamins, and Electrolytes. Taking it is a great way to support your immune system and give your body a boost when you’re not feeling the best.

Chewable Vitamin C

My kid’s favorite way to take vitamin c is the chewable vitamin. I usually pick up the chewable vitamins from Costco and they last our family quite a while.

Hyland’s Cold and Cough for Kids

Hyland’s is a brand I have used since my old was a baby. I love their products and feel comfortable giving them to my kids.

During cold season I like to keep Hyland’s cold and cough for kids on hand. There are two different syrups one for daytime and another for nighttime.

Hyland's Cold and Cough 4 kids

According to the packaging both of Hyland’s cold and cough products provide natural relief for congestion, runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, cough, and post nasal drip.

Hyland’s cold and cough is recommended for kids ages 2 to 12.

Chapstick

I don’t know about you but every time I get a cold it seems like my lips get so dry. I love keeping extra chapstick on had so that we can easily keep lips from drying out and cracking.

Immune Support Vitamins

During the cold months of the year when we aren’t getting as much sunshine and fresh air I like to do a little extra to support my family’s Immune System.

There are a lot of different ways to support your immune system so do some research and find what will work best for your family. We take elderberry vitamins with probiotics to help support our immune system

I know there are tons of different things out there to help with colds. I hope that this list of essentials for our family has helped you think of the things you want to have on hand for cold season.
