For the past several months Jared and I have been getting the date night in box monthly subscription.

Even though the date night in boxes should make date night a lot easier we sometimes still have a hard time fitting it in. Between work, kids and other responsibilities life can get crazy. We have found that putting date night on the calendar makes it a lot more likely to happen.
Our Aloha Date Night
The time was about 9:45, the kids were both asleep and we could finally spend some time together on our aloha date.
The menu for this date looked amazing but that late at night we didn’t want to eat a whole meal. I have plans to try a few of those recipes in the near future though.
Instead of a full meal, we decided to snack on the chips and try the drinks.
The chips were delicious. The drinks not so much. Neither Jared or I liked the drinks, but that’s probably just us.

As we munched on our chips we learned a little about the Hawaiian language and tried to say a few phrases. The hubby is way better at that than I am.
Did you know that the Hawaiian Language has only 12 letters! Also, a consonant is always followed by a vowel, that means all Hawaiian words end in a vowel.
Lei it on Me
Next, we decided to play “Lei it on Me”. This game involved each of us answering questions on different cards and then guessing what the other person wrote. If you don’t guess correctly you have to do the chosen reward.
This fun game had us laughing and teasing each other. It was surprising to find out how we answered some of the questions.
We learned more about each other through this game (who knew after 5 years we didn’t know everything about each other) and we also were reminded that we both love messages.
After our fun game of “Lei it on Me” we decided to try one more of the games included in this months box.
Konane
Konane is one of the most popular Hawaiian games and a variation of checkers.
The game was quick and easy to set up and ended rather quickly. I really need to work on my Konane strategy!
Since it was getting late we decided to save the other activities in the box for another night. The Aloha Bingo and Hula Time! are on the agenda for our next available date night in.
The Candle
During our whole date, we had the Northern Lights Plum Orchid & Dahlia candle burning and it smelt just like a tropical location. It is seriously my favorite candle ever! You can get a candle or the room spray in this scent.
Final Thoughts
Overall we really enjoyed this date night in box there were a lot of different activities. The Chips were amazing and the candle is my new favorite scent.
I felt like this months box was the best value since it had so many different things included in it. The box really was packed with ways to spend quality time together.
