Taking a Disney World vacation is on the top of many of our bucket lists. It’s that trip many of us start dreaming about as kids or once we have kids.

10 Disney World Tips for First Time Visitors - find helpful tips for your Walt Disney World Vacation

Last year we were able to visit Disney World Parks several times. While we had an awesome time we also learned a few tips that we are passing along to you!

Disney World Tips for First Time Visitors

These hacks are in no particular order, feel free to skim the list and read more details about the hacks that interest you.

Plan 1 Park Per Day

This might not seem like a hack but planning on doing only 1 park per day is one of the best tips I can give you.

If you have visited Disney World before you might want to do the park hopper pass but on your first visit, there is so much to see and do in the parks that you will find plenty to do staying in the sand park all day.

Stay Hydrated with Free Water

Staying hydrated in the Florida heat is extremely important. You don’t want to start or end your Disney World vacation with a trip to the Emergency Room.

Throughout the Disney World parks, you can get free ice water. Enjoy staying hydrated and saving money by getting the free ice water available at most of the quick-service restaurants.

Arrive Early

Get to the parks at least 30 minutes before they open. The first few hours after opening are some of the best hours at the parks. Lines are typically shorter and it’s not quite as hot. You might want to plan even more time if you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom.

Snack Through the Park

Our favorite way to eat at Disney World is by snacking through our day. Instead of having a big meal we get a snack or two every couple of hours.

Eating a little bit frequently keeps us all happy and feeling good. Plus we can try so many fun foods snacking through the park.

We tried some amazing foods in the Magic Kingdom – here are some foods you don’t want to miss.

Use the FastPass+

Most people planning a trip to Disney World have heard about the FastPass+ System. It’s a great way to be able to skip the line on at least 3 rides.

A lot of people miss the fact that after you use your original 3 fast passes you can get additional passes. This the system we use to avoid standing in line for more than 30 minutes.

Get the App

The Disney World app is a must for any Disney World vacation. Not only can you have your tickets linked to your app you can also schedule fast passes and check wait times.

Don’t Try to Do It ALL

There is so much to do in each of the 4 parks at Disney World. With rides, shows and other activities, you won’t be able to do it all in a day or even one trip.

So pick a few must-do things for each day and then enjoy as much as you can but don’t be disappointed that you didn’t do it all. Now you have a reason to go back!

Enjoy the Freebies

A Disney World vacation isn’t cheap so enjoy all the freebies you can. Get a button from the park for your first visit, birthday or other celebration, it makes a great souvenir.

Use Disney Gift Cards

Disney gift cards can be used for more than Disney merchandise. Purchase Disney world gift cards throughout the year to use them to purchase your Disney world tickets as well as items in the park.

Enjoy the Magic

Don’t stress enjoy the Magic. Wear matching t-shirts, get the mouse ears, bring in food or try all the food you can. There isn’t only one right way to do Disney World.

We all want something different out of our Disney vacations so each of our trips will look a little different.

But no matter what we have in your Disney World Bucket List we all want to have fun, experience the magic and make memories together.

So take a deep breath and smile, you don’t want something small to ruin your vacation.
