Each year I tell myself I’m going to read more but I typically don’t get it done so this year I’m writing a list and making it happen. So today I’m sharing my list of 12 books to read this year.
Before I had kids, I used to spend a lot of time reading. Since having my first baby (several years ago) I haven’t read nearly as many books as I would like to, especially books that aren’t fiction.

Each of our lives have so many different areas and we have so many interests, it can be easy to focus on one area and let the others go.
With this book list I want to include several different areas so…it’s a list of books to take control of your life, not just one aspect of it.
Below are 12 books I plan on reading this year. I’m hoping these books will help me take more control of my life and hit some of my goals. There are books that cover several different topics, since I want to learn it all!
As I read each book throughout the year I’ll add my thoughts about the book and if it’s really worth reading. So be sure to bookmark this page and come back to see the updates.
Also, don’t forget to get the free blank book list printable at the bottom of this post.

1.The Millionaire Next Door
I read The Millionaire Next Door several years ago and found it very interesting. I want to read it again and take some notes this time.

2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a book that many
The book teaches 7 Habits of highly effective people and even better it shares techniques for applying the seven habits.
I know as a high school kid I didn’t really apply many of these habits to my life, hopefully this time reading it I will apply more of what the book teaches.
3. Think and Grow Rich
This book has been recommended to me multiple times and I have even started reading it a few times. This year I’m (finally) going to read the whole book!
Think and Grow Rich is a book written by Napoleon Hill and has been called the “Granddaddy of All Motivational Literature”. I mean it was originally written in 1937.
The basis of this book is Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success philosophy. In the book Hill shares stores of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and other millionaires to illustrate the principle points in his philosophy.
