Easy Soft Fall Leaf Marble Sugar Cookie Recipe

Inside: These soft fall leaf marble sugar cookies are the perfect cookie to make this fall. With an easy to follow recipe these cookies are a must to add to your fall baking.

Fall is in the air and it makes me want to spend more time baking all the yummy treats.

When I have the kids helping me bake in the kitchen cookies are one of my favorite things to make. Sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies and pretty much everything in between.

For the fall season we love making leaf shaped marbled sugar cookies.

Fall Leaf Marble Sugar Cookies

These fall marbled sugar cookies are a perfect combination of playdoh activity and sweet treat.

My kids loved mixing the colors of dough together like they do with playdoh but ending up with a fun and sweet treat.

To make these cookies first you’re going to make your sugar cookie dough. You can follow whatever recipe you would like.

We like to use our favorite soft sour cream sugar cookie recipe below.

Sour Cream Sugar Cookie Dough

To make the delicious sugar cookie dough you are going to first cream the butter and sugar together.

Then add the eggs and sour cream and mix.

Mixing Sugar Cookies

Next add all your dry ingredients and mix the dough well. I like to use my bosh mixer to make this cookie dough.

After the dough is mixed divide it into 3 or 4 different balls. (If you want a lot of cookies, you could make 3 or 4 batches of dough instead of dividing.)

After dividing the dough it’s time to pick your colors.

We did 3 different colors orange, red and yellow. Then we mixed the dough together lightly.

The first few cookies were only lightly mixed with more defined color lines or even some solid-colored cookies.

The more we mixed and rerolled the dough to cut out the leaves the more the colors blended together.

We thought it was fun to have the various stages of mixed dough, but if you prefer the more blended look you can always mix the dough more before rolling it out.

Once the dough is mixed, roll it out and cut out your shapes. We did fall leaf shapes but you could do pumpkins or other shapes if you want.

Roll the dough out with powdered sugar instead of flour for a sweeter taste and bonus the sugar dissolves and you won’t have any powder on the cookies!

After cutting out your shapes bake the cookies. I like to bake them on my silicone baking mats.

Optional: If you want to give the cookies a fun sugar texture you can lightly sprinkle the dough with granulated sugar before baking.

Bake the cookies and after removing them from the oven let cool on cooling rack and enjoy.
