Make Your Own LDS Apostle Guess Who Game (Free Template for 2024)

Inside: Free Printable General Conference Apostle Guess Who Game with current First Presidency and Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (No game required, it’s all paper!)

With General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka LDS), I wanted to create an activity to help my kids learn the current church leaders.

I have found that watching conference for kids is a lot better when they know who is speaking.

So in preparing for conference this year I made this fun printable guess the apostle game to help my kids learn the first presidency and twelve apostles.

General Conference Apostle Guess Who Game

The printable general conference game is easy to put together and a fun way to learn the current church leaders.

I even included some fun facts about each of the leaders on the game board.

Supplies for General Conference Guess Who Game

  • Free printable game template (at bottom of post)
  • Photos of the first presidency and twelve apostles from the church website
  • Cardstock and printer
  • Scissors
  • Detail Knife
  • Glue

Putting together the Apostle Guess Who Game

This game is easy to put together but takes a little time.

Putting the Game Together

First you need to add the photos of church leaders to your game template.

Go to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints media library and download photos of each of the 15 Church Leaders (First Presidency and Apostles).

After downloading the photos you need you are going to upload those photos in your Canva account. You can create a free account, you don’t need to pay for one.

Click the template link at the bottom of the post and the template will be added to your Canva designs.

Once all the needed photos are uploaded you will simply drag and drop the photos into the correct spots on the two different pages.

After all the photos have been added download the file as a pdf and you’re ready to print.

Print the Game

Print out all the pages to make the game on cardstock.

The base pages with facts about the apostles and first presidency are printed single sided.

All the other pages with photos are printed double sided (flipping on the long side) on white cardstock.

Once everything is printed out your ready to start cutting it all out.

Cutting Out the Game

Larger calling cards can be cut out with scissors and set aside for game play.

The two game board pages need to be cut out with a detail knife (Exacto Knife).

Cut along the sides and bottom of each question block, including the large on at the bottom of the page.

After cutting along the 3 sides of each question block you should be able to pull the tab up and see a photo of an apostle or prophet on the other side.

The big question square at the bottom does not have a photo on the other side.

After cutting around each square on both pages you’re ready to put the game boards together.

Putting Game Boards Together

The two game boards are the same so you can easily match the correct names and facts with the right photo before gluing the pages together.

Glue between the rows and around the edges of the page. Don’t worry about gluing between each person.

The blue scribbles in the photo show where I used glue to attach the two pages together.

Now your all set and ready to play.

Playing General Conference Guess Who

Before you start playing the game flip all the tabs up. The large one at the bottom of the game board is to hold your mystery apostle card.

Objective: Your objective is to guess the mystery Apostle on your opponent’s card by asking one question per turn, and eliminating gameboard faces that don’t fit the mystery apostles description.

The Gameboard Faces: Notice the difference among the 15 faces on your gameboard. Hair and eye colors are different; tie colors vary and some are wearing glasses.

As you play you’ll notice several other differences among the gameboard faces.

YOUR TURN: The younger player always goes first. On your turn, you may either ask a question or guess who the mystery person is, but don’t use your turn to guess the mystery person until you are ready. If you guess incorrectly you’ll lose the game.

ASKING QUESTIONS: Until you’re ready to guess who the mystery person is, ask your opponent one yes or no question per turn. Each question must have either a “yes” or “no” answer.

For example, you may ask: “does your person wear glasses?” Your opponent must then answer “yes” or “no”. After your opponent answers, you may eliminate one or more gameboard faces.

HOW TO WIN: Players alternate turns asking questions until one player makes a guess. If you guess correctly, or your opponent guesses incorrectly, you win the game.
