Whether you’re hosting a big Halloween celebration, prefer a quieter night, or are busy trick or treating with your kids a “Please Take One” sign for your candy bowl can be a lifesaver!

This sign ensures you can still “handout” candy and participate in the holiday fun, even if you’re not answering the door for every knock. (The free digital file can be found at the bottom of the page!)

Free Printable Halloween Candy Signs

I created this free printable trick or treat sign for anyone who like me will be out trick or treating with their own kids Halloween night and those who want an easy way to participate without being seen!

This sign is the perfect way for the whole family to have fun together while still handing out sweet treats to neighborhood kids.

How to Use the Printable Halloween Candy Sign

On Halloween night the please take one sign can be hung on the front door, bench, or front porch pillar near the Halloween treats. Or you can put the sign right on your big bowl of candy (with enough candy for the neighboorhood) on your front step.

Washi tape is a great way to hang the Halloween sign without doing any damage or if your door is magnetic I love these magnetic clips.

You could also use this sign for a kids Halloween party or at a booth for a Halloween or Fall festival.

Printing the Trick or Treat Sign

The printable sign is designed to be printed on 81/2 by 11 size paper (that’s regular printer paper size).

You can print it on regular paper or cardstock. I personally like to print my sign on heavy white cardstock so it will stay laying flat even if it’s windy.

Laminating the sign is a great way to keep the sign from getting ruined if it rains. Plus you can tuck the laminated please take one sign in with your Halloween decorations and be all ready for next year.

You could also put the free Halloween candy bowl sign in a picture frame to protect it from the weather.

Free Printable “Please Take One” Candy signs

I have made a few different “please take one” free printable signs for you to choose from. Each sign reminds neighborhood kids to please only take one piece of candy.

Even though the treat signs remind kids to please only take one or two pieces of candy there is the risk that someone might take the whole bowl.

So far we have been lucky and older kids (and young kids) have been respectful of our signs – thanks to our camera door bell we have an idea of how our printable Halloween candy bowl signs have worked with the unsupervised bowl of candy.

But even though we have been lucky it’s a good idea to use a bowl you don’t love to hold your Halloween treats (in case it goes missing). I usually pick up a big bowl from the dollar store or use a home depot bucket we have in the garage.

Please Take One Watching Eye

This fun sign says “please take one the ghosts are watching” in a spooky font and has a big eye watching.

Ghosts Are Watching

Just like the first page this one says “please take one the ghosts are watching” but instead of an eye it has a haunted house with ghosts.

Trick or Treat

This is a cute one of the take one treat Happy Halloween signs. The sign says “Trick or treat, take one sweet! Happy Halloween!’

Pleas Take One

With a haunted house perfect for spooky season this free printable Halloween sign says “Please take one, Happy Halloween”.

Stop Halloween Sign

This spooky hand sign says “Stop please take one, leave some for everyone!”

Take 2 Treats

With a cute ghost this sign says “Hay boo, you can take 2! Happy Halloween”.
