Graham cracker crusts are such an easy and delicious addition to so many desserts. I mean a cheesecake just wouldn’t be the same without that buttery graham cracker crust at the bottom.
There are several ways to make a graham cracker crust, my favorite is simple and easy with only 2 ingredients it only takes a few minutes to make this crust.

Graham Cracker Crust Recipe
This Graham Cracker Crust recipe is perfect for so many things. I personally love using it for no-bake pies, cheesecakes, and other easy desserts.
The crust only has 2 ingredients crushed graham crackers and butter.
First I like to put the butter in the dish I will be using, typically a pie tin or a 9×13 baking pan. I put the dish in the oven while it preheats to melt the butter.

While the butter is melting it’s time to crush the graham crackers.
A quick and easy way to crush the graham crackers is to put them into your blender and pulse until the crackers are ground into small pieces.

Mix together the melted butter and crushed graham crackers, then press into the pie tin or pan. If you’re using the crust as a pie crust make sure to press the crackers up the sides of the tin as well as around the bottom.
Bake the crust for only 7 minutes and then let it cool. Once cooled your crust is ready for whatever delicious filling you decide to put in it.

Some of my favorite recipes that need a graham cracker crust are this Raspberry Cream Cheese Pie, No-Bake Mango Cheesecake, and Blueberry Sour Cream Pie.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few frequently asked questions about making a graham cracker crust at home.
What can you Substitute for Butter in a Graham Cracker Crust?
If you’re out of butter or just want to use something else in your crust you can easily substitute olive oil, margarine, or coconut oil for the butter in this graham cracker crust recipe.
*Keep in mind you won’t have the buttery taste if you don’t use butter.

Do I need to bake a graham cracker crust?
You don’t need to bake the crust, but baking it helps it stay together and not get soggy as quickly.
Can you make a crust ahead of time?
Yes! I love making my graham cracker crust ahead of time and then just adding the filling shortly before we will eat the dessert. Doing this keeps the crust fresh and it doesn’t get as soft.
Why is my graham cracker crust so hard?
If you overbake the crust it can get hard. Also if it’s stored in the fridge the crust will sometimes get hard because butter does get hard when it’s cold.
