For the past couple of years, we have spent Labor Day weekend at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA. The park is open weekends in May, September and October and open every day June – August.

Knoebels is America’s Largest Free – Admission Amusement Park.
The park has something fun to offer the whole family. Since there is no admission fee it’s the perfect place to have a family reunion when grandparents want to watch but not necessarily ride.
Things to do at Knoebels
There are a lot of different things to do including rides, entertainment and games.

Rides at Knoebels
Prices as of 2016
Kiddie Rides include Helicopters, Kiddie Bumper Cars, Pony cart and more (20+ rides). The Kiddie Rides typically cost between $1.o0 and $1.25; a couple of the rides might be $1.50.
Thrill Rides include Flying Turns, Giant Flume, Phoenix and about 20 more. This year they just added a new one. These rides typically cost between $1.75 and $3.00.

Family Rides include some of my favorite rides the Grand Carousel, Ole Smokey and 15+ more. These rides typically cost between $1.00 and $1.75.
During the week, they have a pay one price ticket, so you can pay one price and get a wristband and go on as many rides as you want. We typically buy a $20 book of tickets and it lasts our family 2 days. (we don’t go on a ton of rides though.)
Entertainment
There is a stage with different musical performers throughout the season. There is also a free magic show throughout the day.
Games

There are 2 arcades in the park as well as numerous carnival games. One of our favorites is Fascination.
The above list doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of things to do at Knoebels, it really is a great place for the whole family.
Things to Eat at Knoebels
Some of our favorite things to eat at Knoebels include French fries, from the French fry stand; pickles on a stick, and waffle ice cream sandwiches. The BBQ at the Potato Barn is also really good.

The above-mentioned foods are just some of our favorite and doesn’t even begin to cover all of the food options that you have.
Places to Stay
There are not any hotels in Elysburg, PA but there are a few in surrounding towns, check hotels.com for the best hotel deals.

Each time we have visited Knoebels we have stayed in the Cozy Log Cabins at the Knoebels Park Campground. Knoebels also has campsites and cottages near the amusement park.
Would you add Knoebels to your bucket list?

What a fun place!! Honestly, you would have to work hard to get me to leave the Waffle Shack! YUM!!
Agreed we make a few stops at the waffle shack every day we are visiting! A warm waffle with cold ice cream is amazing!
This looks like so much fun at a great price!
