Ok, I’m going, to be honest here guys we celebrate Halloween differently pretty much every year. This year since we have a tiny newborn baby we are going to be celebrating Halloween at home.
Some years we take the kids trick or treating, other years we have done trunk or treat and sometimes we just have fun at home.

This year the kids are so excited to dress up and celebrate Halloween so we decided to have a fun Halloween party with them.
I have to say Halloween isn’t my favorite Holiday, but it is a lot of fun to celebrate with kids. I don’t do scary or creepy things so any Halloween activities, crafts etc you find on the blog will be cute and fun, not scary.
If you’re looking for some fun ways to celebrate Halloween at home you have come to the right place! I’m sharing some fun activities for the whole family to enjoy this Halloween.
How to Celebrate Halloween at Home
Just because you decided to celebrate Halloween at home this year doesn’t mean you can’t have a lot of fun.
These are just a few of the fun ways you can celebrate Halloween at home.
Decorate
Before celebrating Halloween at home, have fun decorating for your party.
Make some diy Halloween decorations or pick some up at the dollar tree or a party supply store.

Dress Up
Even though you’re not going out for Halloween there’s no reason you shouldn’t dress up.
Have fun picking themed family costumes or just let the kids dress up it’s totally up to you.
Have a Fun Dinner
Having a fun dinner is a great way to celebrate Halloween at home.
Pick a meal that’s fun for your family it could be something like dinner in a pumpkin, personal pizzas or even takeout.
Trick or Treat Around the House
Trick or treating around the house is always a lot of fun for kids.
Have the adults and/or teens pick a room and get ready to handout treats.
If you don’t have many adults don’t worry you can have them go to another room as soon as the kids are done at their door.
A couple years ago my husband and I switched every other door in our house. The kids thought it was so much fun and the funniest part was watching us run to the next door.
Don’t forget that you can use all kinds of doors in your house. We have used bedrooms, closets, bathrooms, the laundry room and even the pantry as places for kids to come tick or treat in our house.

Flashlight Candy Hunt
Another fun way to get treats on Halloween is to have a flashlight candy hunt. Hide candy like you would Easter eggs inside a specific area of the house or the backyard.
Then give the kids flashlights and let them search for the treats. This activity is not only fun for young kids but also older kids and teens.
Bingo
Get some fun prizes and use fun Halloween themed bingo boards or the classic bingo game to have a fun bingo tournament.
Cute Halloween Desserts
Desserts are always a good idea when you’re celebrating a holiday.
Make some of your favorite desserts or have fun making one of these fun Halloween desserts.

Carve Pumpkins
Carving pumpkins is a Halloween tradition for many families. It’s always fun to see what the kids want carved into their pumpkins.
You could make carving extra special by having a carving contest with a prize for the winner.
Watch a Halloween Movie
End your at home Halloween celebration with a fun Halloween movie. Choose a movie everyone will like and have fun watching it together.
If you need ideas of a movie to watch my friend Justine has a list of family-friendly movies for fall.
Fun Halloween Photos
Don’t forget to take pictures of your fun Halloween celebration. You might even want to create a fun Halloween photo station with photo props.
