How to Play Don’t Eat Jack (aka Pete)
If it has been a bit since you played this game here are a few simple instructions to remind you how to play.
What you need:
- Small candy or treat (M&Ms, fruit snacks, marshmallows, etc)
- Don’t Eat Jack Game board (Get it below)
Playing the Game:
Place the game in the center of the playing area and have everyone sit in a circle around it. Place one piece of candy on each Jack o’lantern.
Then choose one person to be it. This person leaves the room. While the “it” person is out of the room all of the other players choose one of the 9 jack o’lanterns to be “Jack” for that round.
After Jack has been chosen call the person who is “it” back into the room. Don’t tell who Jack is, make sure everyone keeps his identity a secret!
Now the Person who is “it” gets to start choosing pieces of candy to eat while everyone watches and waits for them to pick Jack.
As soon as they touch the candy that’s on Jack, everyone yells “DON’T EAT JACK!!”. Their turn is now over and someone else gets a turn.
After each turn, the person who was it only gets to eat the candy they collected before they touched Jack!
The game can be played multiples times so everyone gets a turn or two trying to collect candy and not eat Jack!
