This 4th of July Fizz Activity is quick and easy to do and you probably already have everything you need.

To make your fizzing container use any container you want. We used disposable casserole dishes from the dollar store. Just make sure the container has a large amount of surface area and it’s metal or glass so that the food coloring doesn’t dye it.

Put a layer of baking soda across the bottom of the container. Our containers had varying thicknesses of baking soda.

Next, get 2 small bowls/cups and fill them with white vinegar. Using food coloring make one bowl of vinegar red and the other blue.

Give your kids a dropper and/or a plastic syringe and let them have some fun dropping the vinegar onto the baking soda. They will love watching it fizz in red and blue!
