Free Printable Super Bowl Squares (2026)

As the Super Bowl game – Super Bowl Sunday – gets closer the excitement isn’t just limited to the game, commercials or half-time show.

Hosting a Super Bowl party comes with its own set of traditions, from yummy snacks to friendly games.

One super bowl tradition for many is the Super Bowl Board also known as Super Bowl squares. During the weeks leading up to the big game you may see these boards as an office pool at work or even have one going with family and friends.

What is a Super Bowl Board?

Before we dive into the details of our free printable Super Bowl board, let’s quickly go over what it is and why it’s so popular.

A Super Bowl board, also known as a squares pool, is a grid that consists of rows and columns filled with numbers. Participants purchase or are assigned squares on the board, typically for a small fee.

Though super bowl squares can be something you do betting on draftkings sportsbook it can also be a fun game to play at a super bowl party with players of all ages.

For our family we like to make it a great time for everyone kids and adults – so we keep it simple and fun.

Free Printable Super Bowl Squares – Editable Board

The printable super bowl squares is editable with spaces to type the team names and numbers. The squares inside the grid are not editable so people will have to handwrite their names.

There are two pages of the printable the first page is a super bowl squares game board with space to type the team names and numbers.

The second page is a football squares game page not specifically for the super bowl so it can be used for any football game throughout the regular season.

Editing the Free Printable

First write the team names in the two larger boxes along each side of the printable grid.

For 2026 the game is the Seattle Seahawks on one side and the New England Patriots on the other side.

In 2025 we had the Eagles on one side and the Chiefs on the other. (For 2024 it was the 49ers and Chiefs in, 2023 it would have been the Chiefs and the Eagles)

After adding the names of the football teams it’s time to add the numbers.

Some free printable football squares already have the numbers positioned for you. Most that I have seen have the numbers in order starting with both zeros in the top left corner and then counting to nine in order across the rows and columns.

If you want your game board to look like this you can quickly and easily type the numbers in that order on the printable. Simply click the first square type the number hit tab and continue.

I made the numbers editable on my free super bowl squares template so if you want to mix up the sets of numbers you can.

You could put the numbers 0-9 in a random number generator or pick a random order of the different numbers to type along the squares if you prefer.

How Do Super Bowl Squares Work?

To play Superbowl squares you need a 10 x 10 square grid that is numbered with the numbers 0-9. (You can get the free printable super bowl squares pdf file at the bottom of the post)

Each person participating in the super bowl squares game picks a square and writes their name in the selected square. (Squares can also be assigned randomly.)

If you’re doing the super bowl squares as a pool (or for bets) each square will typically have a cost and the winner at the end of each quarter gets part of the prize pool.

Playing Super Bowl Squares with Kids

To make the popular game family friendly for all party guests you can have everyone that wants to participate pick squares without paying a pool fee and have fun prizes for the winners at the end of every quarter.

If you’re playing the fun game for entertainment purposes like our family at the big game party and you don’t have enough people to fill the entire board you can always leave squares empty or you can have everyone pick multiple spaces.

Be sure to have prizes that appeal to individuals of all ages (that are going to be playing). Save the biggest prize for the end of the game teams’ score!

Finding the Winner on the Football Squares Grid

The squares each correspond with the last digit of each teams scores (their individual scores) zero through nine.

You find the number combinations at the end of the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter and end of the game.

Example of How Super Bowl Squares Work

So at the end of the quarter you would find the last number of the score for each team and where those two numbers meet on the square grid you find the winner.

For example if the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles were playing like they did in 2023 and the score was Chiefs 38 and Eagles 35 you would find end digits of each team.

The number 8 on the Chiefs side and 5 on the Eagles side. Follow those horizontal rows/ vertical columns and the square where the 8 and 5 meet is the winning square.

What are the Best Numbers to Pick?

When picking the best numbers for super bowl squares it’s a good idea to remember that most scoring in football is done in sevens and threes.

According to Sportsbook Review the most common last number for a teams score is 0 (zero) with the numbers 0,7 and 3 combined hitting more than 50% of the time in Super Bowl history.

The worst numbers to pick only getting on the scoreboard about 8% of the time combined are 5,2,and 8. But as you know anything is possible. So pick your squares and have fun cheering on the super bowl team of your choice.
