April was a different month for us as I’m sure it was for most of you. Luckily even though things have been crazy throughout the world we have been able to do some fun activities at home and enjoy the warmer weather.

April in Numbers
Well here is a closer look at what our April in Numbers looked like. It looks very different than any other month we have ever had (so far).
1 – Drive Across the Country
Mid March Jared’s work stopped for who knows how long. After waiting a couple of weeks and things getting worse, we decided to head out to Utah to spend time staying with family instead of a tiny apartment while we were stuck inside.
We started driving from Maryland to Utah on March 31st and finished our drive to Utah on April 2nd.
It was the quickest drive across the country ever. We drove for 2 days with minimal stops and spent one night in a hotel. There weren’t any fun pit stops or little adventures. We drove as quickly as we could to get to Grandma and Grandpas.
1 – Exciting Announcement
We had been keeping a secret for a few months and in April we shared an exciting announcement…

Baby #3 is coming in September. Find out more about the pregnancy announcement in this post.
2 – Letterboard Updates
Now that the secret is out we have been doing fun pregnancy letterboard updates each week.

If you want to keep up with this pregnancy and the other fun things we are doing be sure to follow along on Instagram.
3 – Raspberry Pies
One morning Jared told me he really wanted a Raspberry Cream Cheese pie, but I needed to make 3 or 4 so he could have his own pie. So we ended up with 3 delicious Raspberry Pies.
1- Massive Bonfire
While we are in Utah we are staying at my parents house. They live in the mountains on several acres which allows us to spend a lot of time outside and working on projects.

Jared and my little brothers worked on some projects around the house and found a ton of scrap wood so they built a massive bonfire.
After a week of drying out the wood we had a massive bonfire. We roasted hot dogs and made s’mores. It was definitely a highlight of our month.
2- Kids First Time Shooting
We spent a Saturday in April up Goshen Canyon shooting guns and spending time outside.

Both of the kids got to shoot a BB Gun for the first time (with dad’s help). They were both very excited to hit the targets.
Countless 4-wheeler Rides
Since my parents live in the mountains and on some land we have taken countless 4-wheeler rides around the back pasture.

We also took a fun family 4-wheeler ride up the canyon. It was fun, bumpy and filled with beautiful views of the mountains and valley my parents live in.
4- Duct Taped Shoes
After getting to Utah it took my kids exactly 1 day to put holes in there shoes from ridding the “wiggle bug” (Plasma Cars) around my parent’s driveway.

Instead of letting the kids destroy another pair of shoes we duct taped the toes and now they can only wear those shoes to “wiggle bug”.
1 – Month Quarantined in Utah
We have been in Utah for almost the entire month of April. This is the LONGEST we have been in Utah since moving to Maryland over 6 years ago.

It’s been fun watching the kids enjoy a lot of time here and we have really enjoyed the cool evenings that are hard to find in Maryland.
1,841 – Photos Taken
While 1,841 photos may seem like a lot, it’s actually not as many as I normally take. I guess all the time in the car and now being in Utah I have slacked off on my photo taking just a little bit.
Don’t worry I’m sure the number will be higher in May.
1- Home Sold
In April our home in Maryland finally sold. We were under contract 3 different times last year and everything fell through. We feel extremely blessed that during this pandemic our home was still able to close.
Before coming to Utah for our extended vacation quarantine we moved all of our stuff into a small apartment in Maryland.

The plan was to live in the apartment for a couple of months while we figured out where we wanted to live that was closer to Jared’s work.
As of now we have no idea what our future plans look like other than the fact that we will stay in Utah until things open back up in Maryland and Jared is able to work again.
12 – New Blog Posts
At the beginning of the year I set the goal to write 200 blog posts this year. While I’m still behind in that goal, I was able to get 12 new posts written even with all the crazy going on.
I hope you had a fun April and were able to find fun things to do and enjoy as a family even though normal life is a little crazy right now.
