Social Media Pregnancy Announcement

The secrets out! We are adding another little one to our family this fall and we are so excited about it. Last week we shared our pregnancy announcement for baby #3 on social media and I have to say I feel pretty clever for how we announced it.

For our first pregnancy we used a holiday to announce the pregnancy and for the second we used cute big brother to announce. For this 3rd pregnancy I was having a hard time coming up with a cute pregnancy announcement idea that hasn’t been used a million times.

So I asked Jared how we should announce this pregnancy on social media. He responded with, let’s post “We’re announcing we’re pregnant on social media.” To which I rolled my eyes.

But the more I thought about ideas the more I liked his idea, so we got a letter board and asked my talented sister in law to take some pictures for us and we ended up with a cute picture for our pregnancy announcement.

I love how simple the announcement turned out, it’s not super crafty or elaborate. Honestly it’s more ironic than anything and we love it.

I have been getting several questions about this pregnancy so I thought I would share some of the details below.

The Details:

16 Weeks: Enjoying the 2nd Trimester! Baby is the Size of an Avocado

Due Date: My due date is October 1st but since I have scheduled c-sections we will be welcoming this new little one at the end of September. (Read about my unexpected first c-section here.)

Cravings: Carbs, Panda Express, Chocolate, Mexican Food, Pickles and Ham

How this Pregnancy is Different: I have been a lot more tired this pregnancy than I remember being with either of the other kids. That has gotten better since the First Trimester but I’m still tired. I had some bad nausea at first but it only lasted a few weeks and over all was just annoying.

Also because I’m apparently “old” they had me do an early glucose test. That test is one of my least favorite parts of pregnancy.

Similarities to Past Pregnancies: Honestly all of my pregnancies have been very different. The one thing that has been the same is that they are pretty uneventful. (Thankfully!) While I have been tired, felt sick and had cravings, it has been different with each pregnancy.

Things I want to Remember:

My first doctors appointment they did an ultrasound and the kids loved watching it. The tech printed out a picture of the baby for each of them and they where so excited.

At first I was a little bit worried about having a bigger age gap between kids, but I have been able to enjoy this pregnancy more and I think it will be fun having bigger helpers with the baby.

Also, because of COVID-19 I have only been to the doctor once and then had telemedical appointments. It’s been interesting because hearing the heartbeat is always a highlight of those appointments and we haven’t had any.

We feel so blessed to be growing our family and we can’t wait to watch the two kids with the new baby. You can follow along on Instagram for updates about this pregnancy and life.
