First, No I am not pregnant!
Happy National Pumpkin Day! I had a cute pregnancy announcement picture pop up on my Facebook a couple of days ago, that I thought it would be fun to share.
3 years ago, we announced that we were pregnant with our first little pumpkin. We waited until I had the ultrasound at 18 weeks and found out the gender to announce we were pregnant.
We announced our pregnancy to family and friends by sharing our painted/carved pumpkins. This was Jared’s idea and it turned out so cute.
We painted the daddy pumpkin and mom pumpkin faces then we cut a heart in the mommy pumpkin. We put a baby pumpkin that was painted blue with the white due date in the heart.
We didn’t even tell our families (except my mom who figured it out, how do mom’s do that?!) until we knew we were having a boy.
Living across the country does make it easier to hide a pregnancy from family. We were just very selective in what photos we posted to social media. No baby bumps!
I know it probably seems crazy to wait so long to tell people, but I really didn’t want all the questions that come with announcing you are pregnant. So, I cut the times I had to answer those questions in half!
Do you wait to announce your pregnant? How do you tell family and friends there is a baby on the way? Let me know in the comments.
