You guys Christmas is right around the corner and I’m so excited! I love the holiday season, it’s always so magical. Having kids has made it even more fun. So I’m really excited to share with you some fun Christmas DIY crafts and gift ideas over the next few weeks.
Today I’m sharing how to make this adorable Angel Ornament. They are easy to make and inexpensive. You can even get the kids involved in making these ornaments.
Supplies for the Angel Ornament
- Silver Rings
- 3/4 in Round Ball
- Bow Tie Pasta
- Rigatoni Pasta
- Paint ( I used this silver and this rose gold)
- twine/ribbon
Making the Angel Ornament
First, grab your wooden head and a ring. Put a dot of hot glue on the back of the wooden head to attach the ring to form a halo.
Next, attach the bow tie pasta to the rigatoni pasta to create the body and wings of the angel.
Attach the head to the pasta and paint the angels. Painting the angels is a great time to involve the kids.
I made several that were a dark silver and a few that were rose gold. I love how both of the colors turned out. If you want them to have a shinier finish be sure to get a paint that drys with a metallic type finish.
Pro tip – be sure to cover the angel completely and paint inside the rigatoni pasta to give it a beautiful fish.
Once the angel is completely dry attach twine or ribbon to the back of the angel head to hang your Angel Ornament.
Leave the ribbon/twine off if you want the angels to stand on your mantel or use them as other decorations.
We have a couple of angels sitting on our mantel which I love and then a few to decorate our tree.
