About a month ago we received our Date Night In Box. Jared and I were both excited to have a date night without having to find a sitter for the kiddos. The theme for the date night in April was Easy Like a Sunday Morning and the box came with some fun goodies I will share later in the post.

What is A Night In Box
Date Night In and Kids Night In Boxes are monthly subscription boxes from the company Night In. These subscription boxes each come with a preplanned date you can do at home.
Each month the date theme changes and you get to experience something new and create new memories.

These boxes really appealed to Jared and I since we live across the country and we don’t have grandparents to babysit the littles. The preplanned dates help us to make time for our marriage without having to leave the house.

Easy Like a Sunday Morning Date Night In
Between sick kids, house projects and late nights of work it took us almost a month to finally find time for our date night in.
This months theme Easy Like a Sunday Morning was all about relaxing. Thankfully! At our house Sunday mornings are crazy, trying to get two little people ready and make it to Church on time is exhausting!

In the Box
- The Night In Boxes Times – This cute little Newspaper included the itinerary for our date, some recipes, games, fun articles, and instructions to access the music playlist.
- Dice
- Two Pencils
- Two Petite All Natural Waffles
- Pure Maple Syrup
- Two Citrus Ginger Organic Tea Drops
- Two Essential Oil Wipes
Our date!
Our date started a little later than planned, that’s the life of a parent! The kids were finally out and we sat down to enjoy our petite waffles about 9:30pm.

The timing actually worked out great. I usually want to eat something sweet around this time of night and the mini waffles totally satisfied my sweet tooth.
The Food
The menu included in the newspaper looks amazing! We are going to have to try it sometime.
We started our date sitting at the table eating the waffles and drinking our tea. We talked about our day and what was going on with the kids. After eating we used the Essential Oil Wipes to clean up the syrup. Apparently, we are messy eaters.
Reading the Newspaper
After eating our late night snack it was time to read the paper.
First off we did a fill in the blank letter and a word puzzle. The crossword puzzle was surprisingly a lot harder than I thought it would be.

For example, The Feeling you get when you are in love, it starts with an R and is 7 characters long. (We ended up looking at the answers to figure out this one.)
Next, we played the dice game, to which I lost. Then it was time for some mad libs. The Mad Libs ended up being our favorite part of the date. It ended up being so funny, we both commented that we should get some mad libs books.

Ending the Night
We ended our date night by starting the list of 10 questions you never thought to ask. We only made it through a few questions before we got expounding on the answers and talking about things we have done in the past. So now we have more questions to answer another day!
Final Thoughts
If making time for Date Night is something you struggle making time for. Like we do. Date Night In is an awesome way to encourage you to take a couple hours to focus on your marriage each month.
The Date Night In box is affordable and a great option when it’s a challenge to leave the kids and go out.
I wasn’t sure what I thought of Aprils Theme at first but Jared and I both ended up having a good time talking and relaxing together. We do prefer hot chocolate to ginger tea though 🙂

Thanks. We really enjoyed it.
This is on my to-do list to try! It can be hard to find time for dates with kids, but it is so important!
Sounds like fun! It’s so important to plan date nights, even at home. It can be really easy to lose track of of each other with little ones in the mix!
What a great date! Looks like you guys had fun, so important to make that time for each other.
