2024 United States Travel Journal (Free Printable)

This Free Printable Travel Journal has multiple pages and can be used year after year to track your family’s travel memories.

Last year we traveled and explored a number of places in the United States and we can’t wait to keep exploring.

This year our family has a list of different places we want to visit and to help us track and remember the places we visit we are keeping a travel journal.

Let's Go on an adventure travel journal free printable

Several years ago I created my first Travel Journal for our family to use. After using it for years and making a few tweaks each year I have created a travel journal for you to enjoy using and it’s free!

This travel journal is a great way to keep track of your travels and memories that you make while exploring solo or with friends and family. It’s designed as a printable bullet journal so you have space to write, draw and add photos, and other things you pick up along your travels.

Supplies

Putting together this Travel Journal is quick and easy. You only have to have a binder and this printable printed out.

I personally like to add a few more things to our journal so I’m adding those items to the supply list, but they are optional.

All you need is:

  • A Binder or Folder
  • Printed Travel Journal
  • Sheet Protectors or Hole Punch

Optional:

Putting Together the Travel Journal

Now that you have gathered all of your supplies it’s simply assembling the journal.

Print

Print out the travel journal, I recommend printing it out on card stock.

Then it’s up to you if you bind it, put it in a binder, or do something else with it.

I personally keep our family’s Travel Journal in a binder so I can easily add more journal pages and each year I can add to it.

Get Organized

Like I said before I keep our travel journal in a binder. I put the cover page of the travel journal in the exterior front cover.

Then opening the binder in the front pocket of the binder, you can put the Instruction sheet so you know where to get another copy of the travel journal if you need it. It’s also a great place to put maps, brochures, etc.

Open Travel Journal

The first thing you see in my binder is a pencil case. Inside the case, I include different pens and highlighters, washi tape, glue, a small pair of scissors, and change to smash pennies when we travel.

I also used Washi Tape to make tabs so I can quickly turn to my bucket list, maps, and journal pages. You could also use tabbed page deviders if you prefer.

Write Your Bucket List

The first page of this travel journal is a blank Bucket List. Have fun filling this out with places you want to visit.

I have included a lot of space, don’t feel like each line has to be filled. You can always add to your bucket list later.

Color Your Map

The next set of pages is a map of the United States.

We have a map for all of the states we have visited as a family (the one included in this travel journal).

We also have a map for the states each individual person has visited and a map of places visited in the current year. You can get a map to personalize here.

Journal Pages

The journal pages are formatted to be used as a bullet journal. I like to include photos and tickets along with information about the places we visited.

I keep the unused journal pages in the back pocket of my binder and only put them inside a clear sleeve when I have added my “stuff” to them.

You can print multiple pages of the journal pages to use throughout the year. The last journal page is blank without any quotes or anything and can be used as many times as you would like.

Have Fun!

Last and most importantly have fun creating memories with those you love!
