As I’m sitting here eating a delicious bowl of guacamole with my favorite tortilla chips I thought you guys might enjoy some guacamole too.
Homemade guacamole is a family favorite and we eat it pretty much every week as part of our Taco Tuesday dinner. We have even gotten our kids to enjoy eating it!

While there are tons of different ways to make guacamole, we like to keep it simple. This recipe is fast and easy and only requires 5 ingredients, including the avocado!
I know with all the different recipes for guacamole out there it’s hard to believe that a 5 ingredient recipe could be good. But this recipe basic guacamole recipe is delicious.
The recipe only requires some common spices and ripe avocados, and don’t forget the tortilla chips!

How to Make Guacamole
2 avocados make about the perfect amount of guacamole for my family to enjoy for dinner or as a snack while we watch our favorite show. 2 avocados will create 3-5 servings depending on how much you love guacamole.
First, scoop out the avocado and put it in a bowl. I like to cube the avocado before I scoop it so it’s easier to mash.

Mash the avocado until it’s a smooth(ish) texture. We are both ok with our guacamole having some chunks of avocado, so just mash it until it’s a consistency you like.

Next, add the spices. This delicious guacamole only has 4 spices, salt, pepper, garlic, and cumin.
While you can make this recipe with just salt, pepper and garlic, the cumin gives it so much more flavor.
After adding the spices mix up the guacamole really well so the flavors get spread throughout the avocado.

The guacamole is now ready to enjoy, so dig in! We love eating this with chips as a dip, and we also love enjoying it on nachos and tacos.
