I have wanted to plant an herb garden for a long time but just haven’t gotten around to it. Spring is an awesome time for planting new things and since we don’t have a yard an herb garden seemed like the perfect thing to plant.

To make our herb garden unique and fun we decided to make it into a monster herb garden for our kitchen window.
Supplies
- Mini Planter or Bucket ( I used Mini Metal Buckets)
- Paint
- Googly Eyes
- Marker
- Dirt
- Herb Seeds/ Plants

Painting the Monsters
After picking your paint color paint a swatch of color onto your bucket/planter. If the kids are doing the painting, like mine did the paint colors get mixed and the monsters take on funny shape.

Wait until the paint dries and then add googly eyes and draw a mouth. If you want your monster to last for a long time cover it with mod podge or some other clear waterproof sealant.

Planting the Herbs
Now that your monster planters are dry its time to add some dirt to the pots. I gave my kids a little scoop and let them fill the pots with dirt.

You can easily get herb plants and transfer them to your cute monster planters. We decided to plant seeds so the kids could watch them grow.

After planting your seeds or plants give them a little water and enjoy watching your herb garden grow.
