Halloween has never been my favorite holiday, but kids make every holiday more fun. So this year we are doing some fun Halloween crafts.
These perler bead jack O lantern pumpkins were a little more challenging than I thought they would be, but they ended up so cute and they were a really good fine motor activity for the kids.

Perler Bead Jack O’ Lanterns
To make these cute perler bead jack o lanterns you need only two colors of beads, orange and black.
We used the small hexagon pegboard to make our pumpkins.
First pick a side to be the top of your pumpkin and put 2 black perler beds in the center, one on each line. To make the pumpkin stem.
Next we put in the pumpkin face. 3 rows down from the stem and 4 rows in from each side we put the top of the eyes.
Right below the first black perler bead we put a row of 2 more beads and below that a row of 3 beads. This made the triangle eyes.
After making the eyes we made the mouth three rows below the eyes we put the mouth.
We did it two rows in from each side and the bottom of the pumpkin and filled the whole thing in except for a couple of tooth spots at the top.
After designing our face with the black beads we filled in the rest of our pumpkin with orange beads.
We then followed the perler bead instructions for melting the beads.
The jack o lantern pumpkins turned out adorable. You can easily add a magnet to the back of the pumpkins to use them as fun fall magnets on your fridge or in a locker at school.
