Last year we started the tradition of having a themed dinner or snack and watching a Christmas movie. We all loved the fun Christmas movie nights so much we have been excited to start doing them again this year.
The first Christmas movie night I’m excited to share with you is our Polar Express movie night complete with a printable Polar Express ticket for everyone.

Polar Express Movie Night

For our family the magical Christmas Movie Night starts with a Polar Express themed dinner and snacks.
Polar Express Dinner and Snack Ideas
For our Polar Express Party I had a hard time coming up with an actual dinner inspired by the movie the snacks (cookies) and drink (hot cocoa) were easy.
Eventually I came up with the idea of doing Hobo Dinners (foil bakes) thanks to the homeless man and his fire on the roof of the polar express train.
For our hobo dinners we didn’t actually cook them in the fire instead I essentially made a skillet dinner of hamburger, onions, potatoes and carrots and served them in foil plates.
The dinner turned out so cute and everyone enjoyed it.
After dinner we enjoyed our chocolate chip cookies and homemade hot chocolate.
If my kids were older I would let them have the hot chocolate in the basement while we watched the movie, but to be safe we kept the messy drink in the kitchen.
New Christmas Pajamas
A fun way to give new Christmas pajamas to your family is as part of your Polar Express party.
After our awesome dinner we had a little present for each family member thanks to LazyOne.
Everyone including our puppy got new matching Christmas pajamas perfect for the Christmas season and lots of movie nights.
Not only are our new LazyOne Pajamas so cute, they are soft and comfortable too.

Along with their wrapped Christmas pajamas each of us got a train ticket to the north pole.
Polar Express Tickets
For our family movie night each person had their own polar express ticket it was a great addition to the other fun things we did. You can get the set of free polar express ticket printables at the bottom of the post.
The printable polar express train tickets are also a fun way to invite friends over for a polar express movie party. Simply add the tickets to an invite so each person has to show their special ticket to come to the party.
Printing the Golden Tickets
I printed on gold sparkly paper so they were golden tickets. You can print them on white cardstock for cute black and white tickets, or even have the kids color them if you want.
Each of the tickets has a word written on the back in a dot font to make it look kind of like a hole punch.
There are 6 different words on the back of the tickets. The words are words found in the movie and include: Rely On, Believe, Learn, Count On, Depend On, and Lead
The golden paper I got was sparkly and so fun but printing double sided smeared the ink, depending on your printer you might not have the same issue.
I ended up printed each page single sided and then glued the front and back of each ticket together. I chose to laminate the tickets so they would last longer, but you don’t have to do that.

The kids on the magical train visit the north pole so a fun activity could be writing a letter to Santa Claus. Use this free printable to make the activity fun and easy.
Give Everyone Jingle Bells on a Ribbon
