This quick and easy popsicle stick stars door hanger is quick and easy to make and the perfect summer decoration. I love having it hanging from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
I have always loved the patriotic decor. The red, white and blue always look so fun. This year I have been trying to do more crafts after several years of only doing crayon coloring pages with the kids.
For the 4th of July, I wanted a simple star door hanger, so I decided to make one. I wanted to keep the cost down so I used supplies I already had on hand but if you need to purchase everything to make this Star Door Hanger it should cost you about $5.
Supplies for the Popsicle Stick Stars Door Hanger
– 15 Popsicle Sticks – These are really cheap at the dollar store
– Red, White, and Blue Paint – I used the Apple Barrel Acrylic paint
– Twine – Also got this at the Dollar Store
– Hot Glue Gun and Glue – Or super glue – or school glue or a gluestick
Making the 4th of July Door Hanger
The first step to make this patriotic door hanger is making the stars. You need 5 popsicle sticks for each star. Paint 5 sticks in each color (red, white, and blue) and let them dry.
Using glue attach the 5 sticks together in a star shape by overlapping the ends with glue and making it into a star. You might want to try making the shape a few times before adding glue to see what you like
Attach the stars together with twine. My stars are about 4 inches apart. Make a loop of twine and attach it to the top star and you’re done!
This popsicle stick star door hanger is a fun and simple way to decorate your front door or any door in your house. We have ours hanging on our pantry.
