Simple Three Little Pigs House Cookie Decorating Activity

We have been doing a fun little unit of the Three Little Pigs with our preschool group so of course we needed to have a fun themed snack.

One of the best parts of preschool is the snacks right?

For our Three Little Pigs day we had so much fun reading the story, doing this simple STEM activity, and writing (I did all the writing)/coloring about what life would be like if we were pigs in our little books.

The kids enjoyed all of those activities but I think their favorite was decorating the pigs houses.

Three Little Pigs House Cookie Decorating Activity

Before our group I made some house sugar cookies and frosting (with this recipe).

Each child got a plate with 3 house cookies on it, a little cup of frosting and a knife.

The kids frosted their cookies and then decorated a house of straw, a house of sticks and a house of bricks.

House of Straw Cookie

After putting frosting on the cookie the kids put smashed shredded wheat cereal on their cookie to make their house of straw.

House of Sticks

The little pigs house of sticks was made by putting stick pretzels on the frosted house cookie.

House of Bricks

To make our house of bricks cookies the kids put captain crunch “bricks” on their cookies.

The houses turned out so cute and the kids loved making them…and eating them.
