If you have driven to southern Utah in the past couple of years I’m sure you have noticed the Beaver Creamery as you drove past on I-15 or if you missed the building then you probably saw a billboard or two as you drove past.
The first time Jared and I drove to St. George, Utah together we had to stop in Beaver at the Cheese factory. Since that first trip, it’s been a tradition to stop whenever we can.
On our most recent trip, we discovered that the little Beaver cheese factory got an upgrade. The new Beaver Creamery (officially called The Creamery Utah ) is hard to miss, the beautiful building sits just off I-15 between the two southbound Beaver exits (closer to the second exit).
While the building is new and there is a lot more parking we were happy to find that the Beaver Creamery still had everything we were wanting to find when we planned to stop at the Beaver cheese factory.
Why Visit the Beaver Creamery
You might be asking yourself why you should stop at the Beaver Creamery and the answer is squeaky cheese! Haha, no really there are a lot of reasons to stop at the creamery.
To Enjoy Squeaky Cheese
Trying Squeaky Cheese is something everyone should do at least once in there life. What the heck is squeaky cheese? It’s cheese curds. When the cheddar cheese curds are fresh they squeak as you chew them.
When you stop at the creamery be sure to grab a bag of cheese curds to take on the road with you. They have several flavors but our favorite is the classic cheddar.
Enjoy your cheese curds with some jerky for a fun and different road trip snack.
For the Experience
The creamery has several different areas you’re going to want to check out. They have the shop with all the cheesy goodness and other foods, the ice cream counter, a cafe, a retail shop area, and a cheese tasting area.
When we visited the creamery the cheese tasting area was closed but everything else was open.
We had fun checking out the retail items in the store. They had a bunch of fun platters and dishes. As well as quotes and a bunch of Made in Utah products.
To Enjoy Ice Cream
After wandering around for a bit we got in line to get ice cream. They had 24 flavors of ice cream so we each got a different flavor and shared so we could all try some.
The 4 flavors we decided to try were ripe raspberry chocolate chunk, cotton candy, superman and Huckleberry. Can you guess which flavors the kids chose?
There is seating inside the creamery, but since the weather was nice we headed outside to sit at the tables on the patio and enjoy our ice cream.
For the Cheese Samples
Like I mentioned above there is a cheese tasting area and you can sample different types of cheese at the factory most of the time.
To Stretch Your Legs
The creamery is a great place to stop, stretch your legs, and use clean bathrooms.
Let’s be honest it’s probably the best place to stop you’ll find in Beaver unless you want to stick to gas stations.
Because Your Curious
If for no other reason stop at the creamery because you’re curious. I mean it’s a really nice building that’s hard to miss as you drive down I-15. You really probably should stop at least once.
How to Get the The Creamery in Beaver Utah
You can get to the creamery by taking either of the Beaver exits since the creamery is located between them. It is closer to the second Beaver exit southbound so you’ll probably want to take that one unless you want to drive through more of Beaver.
The road to the new creamery will take you past the old cheese factory and the creamery factory.
The easiest way to get to the creamery is to put the address in your GPS, because then, of course, you will get step by step directions.
The Creamery address is: 165 South 500 West, Beaver, Utah
