We recently went exploring at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This park has a little bit of everything from an Antique Carousel, Nature Center, Camping and even a Wizard of Oz Playground.

We spent a couple of hours playing at the Wizard of Oz Playground. Walking to the playground is the start of the magical experience.

The playground includes Ruby Red Slipper Slides, Great Balloon Escape play area and even Toto’s dog house.
The playground has your typical playground equipment with a Wizard of Oz twist. There is also a large grassy area next to the playground and pavilions with picnic tables. You can reserve the Picnic Areas – while we were at the park there was a big birthday party at one of the picnic areas.

There are the trees around the play area but be sure to bring sunscreen and water because it can get hot!
If you’re looking for a fun outing for the kids this summer be sure to check out the Wizard of Oz Playground.
If you have visited this playground let me know what you thought of it in the comments.

What a cute spot! I think my kids are old enough to understand Wizard of Oz. I need to watch it with them soon!
My little man still hasn’t watched the Wizard of Oz, but he loves the playground!
Great tip! Thanks!
