12 Books to Read to Take Control of Your Life

Before I had kids, I used to spend a lot more time reading. Last year I read only a small handful of books and most of them were fiction. This coming year I want to make a little more time to read. Here are 12 Books I plan on reading this year. These books that should help us take more control of our lives. They are self-help, finance type books.

12 Books to Read in 2019 to Take Control of Your Life

The goal is to not only read these 12 books,  but to also implement the lessons and ideas taught in the books.

1.The Millionaire Next Door

The Millionaire Next Door is a book I read a couple of years ago and found it very interesting. The book identifies seven common traits that repeatedly show up among those who have accumulated wealth. If you want to be a Millionaire this is definilty a book you should consider reading.

2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is a book that many read at some point in High School or College teaches 7 Habits of highly effective people and even better it shares techniques for applying the seven habits.

3. Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich is a book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion from Andrew Carnegie. This book has been recommended to me multiple times and this year I’m going to get it read!

4. The Total Money Makeover

The Total Money Makeover is written by Dave Ramsey and is a step by step program to get your finances into order. He teaches “If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.”

I haven’t yet read his book, but my husband and I often listen to his radio show and we use his free budget tool.

5. Listful Thinking 

I recently heard about this book Listful Thinking and decided it needed to be added to my 12 books to read in 2017 list. I can’t wait to learn the secrets of using lists to be more productive, successful and less stressed!   This audiobook is available for free on Audible. 6. How to Win Friend and Influence People

How to Win Friends and Influence People sounds like a great book for leaders and especially those involved in sales. According to the Amazon.com book description, it teaches 3 techniques in handling people, 6 ways to make people like you, 12 ways to win people to your way of thinking and 9 ways to change people without causing resentment.

7. The Miracle Morning

I have heard the quote by Benjamin Franklin, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”, numerous times throughout my life. But I have always had a hard time getting up early. The Miracle Morning book is fascinating to me, I would love tips for becoming a “Morning Person”.

8. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

I’m really excited to read Secrets of the Millionaire Mind in the coming months. According to the description on Amazon, this book shares the missing link between wanting success and achieving it. Yep, something I totally need!

9. From Impossible to Inevitable 

 From Impossible to Inevitable is another book that sounds interesting about business growth and how to have hyper growth and sustain growth.

10. The Power of your Subconscious Mind 

According to the description of The Power of your Subconscious Mind, this book gives you the tools you need to unlock the awesome powers of your subconscious mind.

11. Hands Free Life

Hands Free Life was written to teach 9 habits for overcoming distraction, living better and loving more. The habits in this book should help us be able to live a life of significance.

12. The 4-Hour Workweek

The 4-Hour Workweek has some awesome reviews and I’m hoping some great tips.
