5 Benefits of Amazon Prime Memberships {You Aren’t Using}

I have had an amazon prime membership since I was in college. In each phase of life, I have used my membership for different things and the longer I have had a membership the more perks they seem to give prime members.

If you are new to Amazon Prime or haven’t used it very much you might not be familiar with all of the benefits of your membership. Don’t worry I’m sharing all the reasons an amazon prime membership is worth it.

What are the benefits of amazon prime membership?

There are a lot of different benefits you get with an amazon prime membership. First I’m going to share the more well-known benefits then we will get into the ones your probably not using. Try Amazon Prime Free for 30 Days.

Free Shipping

The most well-known reason to get an amazon prime membership is free prime shipping. Depending on where you live you can get free 1- day shipping or even same-day shipping. Most commonly though you can get items delivered with free 2-day shipping.

Prime Exclusive Deals

Prime Day is the biggest time to get exclusive deals for prime members. But throughout the year you can get early access to lightning deals that have a limited stock of items at the sale price.

Amazon Family

Amazon Family gives you savings of up to 20% on diapers, baby food, and more when you purchase with subscribe and save.

By setting up an Amazon Household you can also share prime benefits with one other adult.

Overlooked Prime Benefits

Here are some of our favorite things included with a Prime membership that are often overlooked and not used by prime members.

Prime Video

Prime Video works very similarly to Netflix. The selection of movies included in your Prime membership is always changing and includes a variety of movies and tv shows.

Not all movies and tv shows are free through prime, you can also purchase and rent digital movies that aren’t available for free.

Prime Music

With Prime Music, you have access to over a million songs and hundreds of playlists all ad-free. You can create a custom playlist and even access the music offline on your phone through the Prime Music App.

If the music you want is not available in Prime Music you can get a Music Unlimited subscription for$7.99 a month instead of the regular non-prime price of $9.99. The Music Unlimited plan has tens of millions of songsTry Amazon Music Unlimited Free Trial

Prime Photo Storage

If you have an Amazon Prime membership you can get unlimited photo storage and 5 GB of video/document storage on Amazon Drive and Prime Photos.  Storing photos on Prime Photo makes it really easy to order prints from Amazon.

Prime Photos shares memories at the top of the page when you log in. It’s a fun way to see photos from past years.

If you cancel your Prime subscription your prime photo storage ends. So be sure to back up your photos in another place as well as on Amazon. I really like my Seagate Backup for my photos and files.

Free Audio Books

With your prime membership you get access to hundreds of free audio books. Yes even without an audible account you can listen to select audiobooks for free thanks to prime reading.

Just look for Prime Reading “Read and Listen Free” on Kindle book pages, You can enjoy these books on the free kindle app or audibles listening app.

For access to unlimited audiobooks, Audible Plus is an all you can listen subscription, with audiobooks and podcasts from all different genres. Try Audible Plus Free.

Prime Reading

With a Prime Subscription, you are able to access select books and magazines for free. You can do these from any iOS and Android device using the Kindle app.

For access to new releases and even more books, Kindle Unlimited is the way to go. You get access to over a million books and thousands of audiobooks as well as magazines. Kindle Unlimited is only $9.99 a month, that’s less than one new book a month. (Plus you can get a 30-day trial!)

This would have saved me so much money in High School when I was reading multiple books a week. Now I’m lucky if I get one book a month read in a month, other than picture books.

How to Get Amazon Prime

You can sign up for an Amazon Prime Subscription with either a monthly or yearly subscription. A yearly subscription is cheaper than paying monthly and for my family we totally get our money’s worth out of the subscription.

You can try Amazon Prime Free for 30 Days before deciding if it’s something your family will use.

Are you a student? Get a free 6 month trial of Prime Student. Plus get 50% off on your prime membership after the trial ends and get more prime student savings.
