How can Halloween be just over a month away! This year is really flying by! A few months ago I shared how to make your own window clings for spring. Today as part of the Inspire My Creativity Link Party I’m excited to share with you how to make some fun Halloween Window Clings.
Window clings are such a fun and easy way to decorate for different holidays. You can hang them on windows or mirrors throughout your house for a fun and simple holiday touch.
DIY Halloween Window Clings
The Halloween Window Clings are so simple and easy to make. Plus you only need a couple of things to make them!
Supplies
- Puff paint (I used glow in the dark paint)
- Wax paper or sheet protector
- Google eyes
- Glitter (optional)
Making the Halloween Window Clings
Making these Window clings couldn’t be easier. I freehanded the Halloween shapes and I think they turned out really cute. Even though I’m not very artistic.
I decided to make a witch, ghost, spider and spider web. Below I will share how to easily make each of these clings.
I made one of each of them using a sheet protector since I ran out of wax paper. A ziplock bag would also work since it’s a thicker plastic.
Decide Your Colors
The first step is to decide what you’re making and pick your colors. I used black, green, and white. Orange would also be a good Halloween color to use.
Draw your shapes
Draw your shapes making sure that it’s completely connected. If your paint isn’t connected then it won’t work very easily as a window cling.

I’m sure many of you are more artistic than I am so you’re Halloween Window Clings will look so much cuter!
Making a Witch
To draw my witch I started out with her hat. I drew a triangle and then added a little to each side of the bottom for the hat brim.
Then I drew a green circle connected to the hat for her face. Then using the black I drew a zigzag mouth and added the google eyes.
Be careful adding the eyes because the paint is wet!
Making a Ghost
First I drew the outline of the ghost shape and then filled it in completely.
I then added google eyes and drew an “O” shaped mouth with the black paint.
Making the Spider
The spider was the easiest to make simply draw a large circle and fill it in. Then I gave the spider its 8 legs.
Then I added google eyes. We decided 2 different sized eyes would be fun on our spider.
Making the Spider Web
For the spider web, I used white paint. I drew a circle with a bigger circle around it and a bigger one around that. Then I drew lines from the center connecting the circles together and making a spider web.
Sparkle it up!
I had some leftover glitter from another project that I decided would be a fun addition to these window clings.
Once I had all the designs done and the google eyes in. I sprinkled the ghost and spider web with white sparkles and the witches hat and spider got some black sparkles.
This is totally an optional step. The window clings look adorable with or without the sparkles.
Let Them Dry
Let your fun Halloween shaped window clings dry for 24-48 hours. The waiting is the hardest part of the whole craft.
The shapes will be solid and firm to the touch once they are dry. The backs should also be solid.
Where the googly eyes are takes the longest time to dry.
Decorate with the Halloween Window Clings
These window clings are a fun way to decorate your windows, glass doors or even the bathroom mirror!
