I love putting together parties and figuring out all the little details. But I do it on a budget.
So get ready for fun and easy bluey party ideas that won’t break the bank.
How to Host a Bluey Birthday Party
The first step to hosting any party is picking the date, time and location. Then inviting everyone to the party.
Bluey Party Invitations
For my daughters birthday party I decided to keep it simple and do digital invitations.
I used a free invite template from postermywall.com they had a bunch of cute ones to choose from. My daughter loved the link one best so that’s the one we used.

If you would rather have a physical invite there are a bunch of cute ideas on Etsy or a free printable one on the bluey website.
Bluey Birthday Party Decorations
I love decorating and making the house feel special for the kids birthdays. But honestly it’s usually pretty simple and not very expensive.
For our bluey decorations we spent about $3 total since I had some of the supplies on hand (if you had to buy everything to do it you should be able to do it for $10 or less).

Bluey Paper Chain
The first birthday party decoration we made was a paper chain in orange, yellow and blue.
The only supplies you need to make this are scissors, a stapler and construction paper in each color. I had all of these supplies already so it didn’t cost anything.

First cut the paper into strips. I did them about an inch and a half to two inches wide. Then make the strip into a circle and connect them as you go. My 3 year old loved helping make this decoration.
We chose to alternate the colors, but you could do a chain in each color if you wanted.
I hung the chain in the entry way to the living room and above the food in the kitchen.
Balloons
I’m pretty sure you can’t have a kids party without balloons (it’s got to be a rule or something). So I used blue, light blue and orange balloons to decorate with. I got the balloons at walmart for about $1 per pack.
We only used about half the pack of each color of balloon to decorate with. (we used some of the left over balloons for games and in our party favors).

We blew the balloons up in a variety of sizes and then connected them together.
You can get a kit to make a balloon garland, but I just cheat and make my own. I use a needle and white thread to “sew” the balloons together in a random order.
Then we used the string to hang the garland from the ceiling above the food.

This Episode Sign
I made a This Episode of Bluey is Called Happy Birthday sign and put it in a picture frame I already had. So this didn’t cost me anything since I already had everything.
My daughter added a bluey sticker to the sign and it was ready to go on the food table.
You can get the editable Episode sign at the bottom of the post.

Bluey Party Food
It was hard deciding what foods to do for our bluey party but we ended up deciding to go with a “burger shop” themed meal.
You can get the free printable food tags (they are editable) at the bottom of the post along with the this episode is called sign.

Burger Shop Burgers
For our burger shop burgers I wanted to keep it simple so I made some simple cheeseburger sliders and ham and Swiss sliders on sheet pans. (I burnt the top of the ham & swiss sliders but they still tasted good, just didn’t look as pretty.)

Sausages
For the kids and those that didn’t want sliders we had hot dogs with buns, ketchup and mustard.

Bingo’s Chips
Bingo’s Chips or Bingo’s fries as we like to call them were frozen fries I cooked in the air fryer.

Fruit Bat Fruit
My mom made our fruit bat fruit and it was delicious. She made a fruit salad with blueberries, sliced apples, pineapple and strawberries. The juice from the fresh pineapple kept the apples from turning brown and the fruit combination was delicious.

Is anyone going to mention the salad?
One of my 3 year old’s favorite food and one she requested for her party was a Caesar salad. So we got salad kits and mixed them up in a big bowl.

Bandit’s Dirt
To add some sweetness and cuteness to the menu we decided to make chocolate pudding and call it Bandit’s dirt.

Jellyfish Jelly
My kids love Jell-o and we don’t often have it so we added Jellyfish Jelly our orange and blue Jell-o Jigglers to the menu.

Oh, Biscuits
These cookies might have been my favorite part of the whole party. I had my brother 3-d print a Bluey shaped cookie cutter (you can get one here) and made soft sugar cookies with it. They turned out so cute and everyone loved the cookies (even without frosting).

Bluey Party Games and Activities
There are so many fun party games you could play at a Bluey birthday we kept it simple and chose just a few.
Keepy Uppy
We blew up a bunch of balloons (left over from decorating) and the kids played keepy uppy while we waited for everyone to arrive.
To play kids try to keep their balloon up in the air and not let it touch the ground.

Pin the Tail on Bluey
This was such a fun and easy game. My 8 year old drew a picture of Bluey on a 1/2 poster board and then she drew his tail which we copied.
The kids put on a scarf to cover their eyes, we spun them around and they tried to pin the tale on Bluey.
We all laughed so hard during this game and the kids wanted to try multiple times.

Pass the Parcel
We played pass the parcel but instead of only one prize we wrapped a prize in each layer of the parcel.
Our parcel didn’t have any big prize instead we had: lollies (suckers), bum worms (gummy worms), fruit bat fruit (the peel and eat fruit candy), and burger shop burgers (gummy crabby patties).
To play pass the parcel we played bluey music and when the music stopped whomever had the parcel opened a layer and got a prize.

Coloring Bluey Cookies
I found these bluey cookies that are printed with a design you color at Costco and had to include them in our party.
The kids had so much fun decorating their cookies and everyone got a fun bluey cookie to eat or take home.
Musical Statues
At the end of the party when some people had already left the kids reminded me that we hadn’t played Musical Statues so we turned on a Bluey freeze dance song and played.

Bluey Cake
My daughter wanted Bluey on her cake so we decided to get a Costco cake add some blue sprinkles and put the Bluey family figures on the cake with her candle.
She was so excited that she got toys to play with from her cake and it was cheaper to buy a new toy and the cake from Costco than getting a cake with Bluey printed on it or a custom cake.
In the past we have used Sam’s club to get the printed cakes – they usually have some fun options at a great price if a Sam’s club is in your area.

Bluey Birthday Party Favors
There are so many cute ideas and things you could put in party bags for your Bluey birthday party.
I decided to keep it simple. Each kid got a Bluey cup as their bag (the cups are $1 at Walmart). Inside the cup they had bluey stickers, a balloon, fruit bat fruit, kisses, and Bluey fruit snacks.
I think they turned out really cute. You could put other things in the cups or use a bag instead of the cup.
If one of your kids want’s a Bluey birthday party you should totally go for it. It’s an easy theme to have a fun party for all ages and stay on budget.
