If you live in Howard county chances are you have heard of Hyper Kidz. If you haven’t heard of Hyper Kidz I’m glad you found this post so I could share this fun place with you.
Hyper Kidz is an indoor playground located in Columbia. With slides, trampolines, a ball pit, and more there is so much fun to be had!
10 things to Know Before going to Hyper Kidz
1. There is an Age Limit
While all ages would have fun at Hyper Kidz but the playground is limited to kids from infants to 13 years old. This helps keep the playground a fun and safe place for the kids.
2. It’s Not Free – But it’s Totaly Worth it!
Though this epic play area isn’t free we have found the price of admission to be totally worth it. We easily spend 2 hours playing here. Plus admission is good for the whole day, not just a few set hours. So go in the morning leave for naptime and you can always go back for another round of fun.
Prices are different during the week and on the weekend. Prices are based on age ranges. So your 3 to 13-year-old is going to cost more than your 10-month-old. Also, 2 adults get in free with a paid child’s admission.
Hyper Kidz Deals
Follow Hyper Kidz on facebook to see their deals. They usually have one day a week that admission is discounted. Right now Wednesdays are the discount admission day to Hyper Kidz where admission is $7 for all ages, all day! Check before you go to make sure they are still doing this deal.

Every once in a while you can find a discount deal to Hyper Kidz so keep an eye on CertifiKID for deals. But be prepared for a bigger crowd when there is a discount.
3. Plan at least a couple of hours to play
Hyper Kidz has no time restriction for playing. Each time we go to Hyper Kidz we have such a great time. There is so much to do that you definitely need to plan on spending at least a couple of hours. Don’t forget you can always leave and come back the same day without paying admission again.
4. Call before you go or Check Facebook
Depending on the age of your kids and how much you like crowds you might want to call before you go drive over to hyper kids to check and see if they have any field trips.
Last week when we went to hyper Kidz we walked in and they told us they had 4 field trips and 2 more on their way. They told us the field trips would all be out by 2:15. So we went and had lunch and came back to play once the buses left.
Hyper Kidz does have a max number of people they can let in but they can usually tell you when to come back so you can get in. Check the Hyper Kidz facebook page for capacity updates or call.
5. Arrive when they open or after lunch
If you’re wanting to go to hyper Kidz in the morning plan on being there when they open or shortly after. The first hour after opening seems to be the least busy in the morning. The crowd seems to slowly grow from there.
About lunchtime (12-2pm) the crowds start to go down as parents leave for lunch and nap time.
Visiting during the week is also going to typically be less crowded than visiting on the weekend.
6. Wear slick shorts or pants
Make sure your kids wear legging-type pants or gym shorts/pants to be able to easily climb and slide.
We found that wearing cotton or jean shorts will make the kids go slow and even get stuck going down the slides. Slick shorts or pants are a lot more fun, especially on the racing slides.
7. Bring Socks
Everyone including the adults are required to wear socks. So either wear socks or bring a pair. If you forget to bring socks you can purchase them at the counter but bringing your own will save you money.
8. Bring Water
Bring a water bottle and keep it with you or in a locker. You can easily go get the water when your kids get thirsty. If you forget to bring a water bottle don’t stress you can purchase one there or use the drinking fountain.
9. Bring a snack
If you plan on staying long at hyper Kidz you might want to consider bringing a snack or even a sack lunch. Your admission is good for the day so you can leave and then go back in and play some more.
There is an area for eating if you want to have a snack inside. There is also a picnic table outside.
10. Fill out the waiver online before you go
Fill out the liability waiver online before you go to make things quick and easy. If you have filled out the waiver before they will have it on file so you only have to fill out the waiver for your first visit. After that, they can look it up using your phone number.

The Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary is the wintering grounds for many Canadian geese. Along with a Visitor Center, there are hiking trails and a self-guided driving tour.
