Ride Details and Ride Height Requirements

Each of the rides at Legoland is a little bit different, read below for a short description of the rides and things to consider before going on the ride with your little ones.

Most of the rides at Legoland have Ride Height Requirements and some even have age restrictions. I will include those next to the ride name in the list below.

Aquazone Wave Racers

Aquazone wave racers has a minimum height requirement of 40″ and the riding partner must be at least 52″ and 14 years old.

Aquazone is a standing ride this is a water ride that moves in a circle. You might get slightly wet on the ride, but if you do it would be a light sprinkle of water.

Battle of Bricksburg

There is no minimum height for the Battle of Bricksburg ride but those under 48″ must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16.

Before getting on this ride there are cubbies for you to put your bags, phones, and anything else you don’t want to get wet in. This is a ride you will get completely soaked on. So bring a poncho and you might stay a little bit dryer, wear a swimming suit and head to the water park after this ride or bring a change of clothes.

Note: Because you get so wet this might be a ride that younger kids do not enjoy. Our toddler did not like all the squirting water, even though we went on the ride in the middle of the summer on a really hot day.

If you have kids that don’t want to go on this ride they can shoot the water guns from on land around the ride at those riding.

Beetle Bounce

The minimum height for the Beetle Bounce ride is 36″ an adult can go on this ride, but only one adult is allowed per tower.

This ride launches you up 15-feet and then bounces up and down for a few minutes with a couple of little drops and a lot of bouncing.

Boating School

The minimum height to do the Boating School is 34″ with someone at least 48″ and 14+ years old.

The boating school is a fun and very mellow ride. Kids or adults get to push the gas and steer their mini lego boats around a winding waterway. Be prepared to bump some edges and maybe another boat or two.

Coastersaurus

The minimum height for the Coastersaurus ride is 42 inches.

This is a wooden roller coaster with curves and dips in and around a prehistoric jungle of animated and life-sized LEGO brick dinosaurs.

My 4-year-old went on this ride multiple times and even convinced me to go with him and I don’t like roller coasters. The first dip had me wondering what I got myself into, but after that, it was a fun ride and I would probably do it again.

Duplo Tractor

Guests under 42″ must ride with a responsible person at least 14 years old. Handheld infants are not allowed on this ride.

Toddlers can ride around and “drive” a tractor just their size. They get to drive around the track twice and the highlight is seeing all of the Lego animals.

Duplo Train

Guests under 34″ must ride with a responsible person at least 48″ tall. Handheld infants are not allowed on this ride.

Toddlers and their family can board a train on their own or with their parents to explore the countryside themed scenery. The train makes the loop twice so you won’t miss the farm, campground or fishing holes.

Flying School

The minimum height is 44 inches and the maximum height is 6′ 5″. Those under 52 inches must be accompanied by a responsible rider that is 52″ or taller.

Flight school is a suspended coaster that’s bright blue. It has twists and turns and speed.

Note: This attraction doesn’t open until 11 am.

Ford Driving School

The Ford Driving School is for kid sages 6-13.

At this ride kids will learn the rules of the road and earn their own LEGOLAND driver’s license in this free-wheeling driving attraction.

Ford Jr. Driving School

Ford Jr. Driving school is for guests ages 3-5 years old.

This is a pint-sized driving school course where kids get to take the controls. Plus they get their very own LEGOLAND driver’s license at the end.

Kid Power Towers

The minimum rider height for Kid Power Towers is 38 inches. anyone under 48 inches must have rider 14 years or older with them.

On this ride, you pull yourself to the top of a tower and then enjoy a fun “free-fall” to the bottom. The free fall is slow and perfect for little ones.

My kids love going up and down and up and down over and over again. The view from the top of the towers is pretty great so don’t forget to look around, especially when you’re facing the lake.

Pro Tip: If your little one wants to do the Unikitty ride but is an inch or two short this is a great ride alternative if they are 38 inches.

Lego Ninjago The Ride

There is no height requirement for the Ninjago ride but children under age 6 or 48″ must ride with a responsible person 48″ or taller and at least 14 years old.

Blast animated fireballs, lightning and more at a sinister gallery of villains before teaming up to defeat a powerful foe.

Pro Tip: There is a fun wall climbing activity and lego building station in Ninjago World you don’t want to forget to checkout.

Lost Kingdom Adventure

The minimum rider height is 30″ for this ride.

Grab your laser gun and take aim. Help the LEGO adventurers battle LEGO mummies and skeletons to find the hidden treasure.

Merlin’s Challenge

The minimum rider height is 36″ for this ride.

This mysterious wooden train ride powered by the wizard’s magic is a fun and mellow roller coaster type ride perfect for young lego lovers.

Mia’s Riding Adventure

The minimum rider height is 48 inches.

Pick your horse and join Mia at riding camp on an exciting disco coaster.

NFPA Rescue Academy

The minimum rider height is 34 inches for this ride.

Take control of your fire truck and race to put out the fire. Pump your truck across to the burning building, then pump the water to put out the fire.

Note: This ride doesn’t open until 11 am.

Royal Joust

Must be 36 inches and between the ages of 4 and 12. Max weight is 170 lbs.

Kids can take a ride on their own LEGO horse through a medieval forest and experience jousting knights and enchanted creatures.

I personally think that the age requirements for this ride are a little ridiculous. I feel like it’s safer than the Drive School or even the Duplo tractors. The ride is very mellow and might be boring for kids over the age of 4 or 5.

Safari Trek

The minimum rider height is 34 inches.

Climb aboard your Zebra Safari car and head out into the safari to spot LIons, tigers, elephants and more.

Technicylce

The minimum rider height is 36 inches.

Climb aboard this pedal-powered ride. Pedal faster to go higher, or just relax and glide closer to the ground.

The Dragon

The minimum rider height is 40 inches.

Climb aboard this indoor/outdoor steel roller coaster. Conquer the twists and turns of this fun Legoland ride.

Note: Our 4 year old who loved the Coastersaurus did not like this coaster. My husband said he felt that this coaster was faster.

The Grand Carousel

Children under 48″ must ride with a responsible person at least 14 years old.

This double-decker carousel is the first ride you will come to as you enter the park it is located in the center of Fun Town. Choose your favorite hours and giddy up around.

The Great LEGO Race

Must be 42 inches to ride and be 6 years old and 48 inches to ride with a VR headset.

The Great LEGO Race combines roller coaster thrills with virtual reality technology to put you in the center of an action-packed road rally. Wearing the optional VR headsets, riders experience the action from every direction up, down, forward, back and all the points in between.

THE LEGO MOVIE Masters of Flight

Must be 3 years old and 40″ tall to ride with an adult. To ride alone guests must be 52″ and 8 years old.

Climb aboard a Triple Decker Flying Couch and experience this Flying theatre attraction that transports riders all over THE LEGO MOVIE universe.

Unikitty’s Disco Drop

Guests must be 40″ to go on this ride.

Drop, spin and bounce to the heights of Cloud Cuckoo Land. Don’t forget to check out the views of the park from above and if you get the chance to go on this ride at night, DO IT!

The Kids Favorite Legoland Rides

4 Year Old Favorite Ride

Our 4 year old’s favorite ride is Unikitty’s, Disco Drop. When we first got our season passes he wasn’t tall enough to go on the ride.

By the end of summer, he had grown the last inch or so he needed. Since his first ride on Unikitty, he always wants to go back for another ride.

2 Year Olds Favorite Ride

If you ask her our newly turned 3-year-old will tell you that the Duplo Tractor ride is her favorite. She loves to pretend to drive crazy and point out all the animals.

Honestly, though she loves all the rides she can go on. She loves the Ford Jr. Driving School and Beetle Bounce just as much as she loves the tractors.

The Best Rides at Legoland

It’s hard to say what the best rides are at Legoland Florida because the best rides depend on who is going on the rides. So first I’m going to share my family’s favorite rides. Then I’m going to break down Legoland Florida’s best rides into a few different categories.

Best Legoland Rides for Any Height

If your visiting Legoland with young kids and looking for rides that allow any height riders there are several options. I personally think the top 3 rides to go on with toddlers and young kids are The Grand Carousel and Duplo Tractors.

For more tips about visiting Legoland with toddlers check out this post.

Best Legoland Ride for Kids 34 inches

Yay, your kids are finally 34 inches the first rides I think you should take your little adventurers on are the Safari Trek and Boating School.

Best Rides for Young Kids 36 inches

Those little adventurers have grown a couple of inches and might be a little bit braver so now you can take them on Merlin’s Challenge and the Beetle Bounce.

Best Rides for Kids 40 inches

That 40-inch mark is a big milestone and the start of the “big” kid rides. The Aquazone Wave Racers and Unikitty Disco Drop are the first two rides you should check out.

Legoland Florida Coasters

Legoland has a few different roller coasters, but most of their rides are for younger kids. The park is designed for kids from 2-12 years old.

First Roller Coaster to Take Your Kids On

If you have a little one that is 42” or taller but hasn’t really done a roller coaster have them try the Coastersaurus first.

If they like it then you can try the other coasters at the park. Our 4 year old loved the Coastersaurus but then he went on the Dragon and it was a little too much for him.

How to Find Legoland Florida Ride Wait Times

Legoland Florida has an Official Mobile App where you can check wait times, view an interactive park map and see showtimes. My favorite feature in the app is being able to set reminders. If there is a specific show we want to see I can set a reminder so we don’t miss it. Get the App Here.
