The Outer Banks (OBX) is a section of barrier islands that is 200 miles long. The barrier islands are off the coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia.
The Outer Banks is known worldwide for its awesome climate and beaches. With over 100 miles of shoreline, there are beaches for everyone.
Some beach areas of the OBX have paved parking, bathrooms and shops nearby other areas of the beach are more rural. Many areas on the beach have free parking and free public access, but some areas of the beach on the Outer Banks is limited to private homeowners.
Visiting the Beach During the Offseason
Even though our trip to the Outer Banks was early in the season we couldn’t visit and not go to the beach. The weather was still too cold to spend time playing, but we enjoyed a couple of walks along the beach.
The little man loved having daddy pull him in the wagon. He stayed nice and warm with pillows and blankets and he got to see everything.
Our family loves to visit the beach when it’s warm so we can play in the sand and the water. But visiting the beach during the offseason is growing on us and there are some benefits of a beach vacation when it’s offseason.
The ocean was beautiful, now we can’t wait to go back when it’s warmer so we can play in the sand and water!
