Love Monster (Pom Pom Monster) Valentine Craft
The first step to making this Love Monster Valentine craft is making the pom-pom. There are several different ways to make a pom pom we made our pom poms two different ways.
We used a wooden pom pom maker we got in one of our Kiwi Crates to make one and we used 2 toilet paper tubes to make another.

The wooden pom pom maker was easier to use but the 2 toilet paper tubes work great and cost nothing if you don’t already have a pom pom maker.
Use a sticker or some tape to attach the end of the string to the maker or toilet paper tubes. Wrap the yarn around and around. The more times you wrap it around the fuller your pom pom will be.

Your pom pom will look different depending on how many times you wrap the yarn around. The more yarn you use the fuller your pom pom will be.
We made one of our pom poms with more string and one with less and they both tuned out looking different but very cute pom pom monsters.
Now cut the string and cut a piece of string to warp around the middle of your bunched string. Pull the string as tight as you can and tie a knot.

If you’re using toilet paper tubes, wrap the string around the middle (between the tubes) and tie your knot. Then take out the toilet paper tubes and wrap the string around again and tie a tighter knot.
Wrap the pipe cleaner around the same string of yarn you just tied and twist it a few times.

Now cut the looped ends of the string and fluff your pom pom. We just used our hands to get the pom poms fluffy and round but you can use a wire brush to get the yarn to fray a bit if you want.

After your pom pom is fluffed you can shape the pipe cleaners any way you want and trim the pipe cleaners or any strings that need it.

Attach the googly eyes and foam heart sticker to your pom pom and you’re done. You have a cute little pom pom monster for Valentine’s Day.
Don’t forget to read the Love Monster story that inspired this cute craft.
