Life sure has gotten crazy this past week. With so many schools canceling classes and parents working from home, there have been a lot of changes to our regular routines. Today I thought it would be fun to share a few fun things to do at home with your kids.

These at-home activities are a great way to make the most of your time at home together. These activities don’t require any special supplies and can be done multiple times over the next few weeks.
10 Fun Things to Do at Home With Your Kids
These activities work for various ages from young toddlers to older elementary kids.
1-Build a Fort
Grab the kitchen chairs, a few blankets and anything else you need to build a fort. Don’t rush the building process it’s a big part of the fun. Let the kids share ideas and problem-solve to get the fort built.
Once you have built your small or large fort have fun reading stories inside, playing pretend, having a picnic or anything else the kids think would be fun.

2-Do a Craft
There are so many fun crafts that you can make with your kids. There are tons of free printables out there and so many simple and easy projects you can make together.
Here are just a few crafts I have made recently with my kids:
3-Play A Game
One of our favorite things to do at home is play games. We love playing card games, board games, and even a few video games together. So grab a favorite game (or a new one to try) and have fun playing together.

4- Bake Something
Have fun in the kitchen cooking and baking together. Make a family favorite or try a new recipe. Here are a few easy recipes to make with kids.
Working together in the kitchen is not only a fun family activity it’s also a great learning activity. When you’re baking you can practice math, science and reading all at the same time.
5 – Get Outside
I know it can be hard to think about going outside when we are supposed to be social distancing. But there are several ways you can spend time out in the sunshine and the fresh air while staying away from people.
Playing in your own yard is one of the best ways to get outside while staying in your own space. Bike rides are also a great way to stay away from people while enjoying exercise and time outside.
6 – Have a Dance Party
One of our favorite things to do at home is, have a dance party. We love turning on our favorite music, typically Disney soundtracks that the kids know, and dancing around the house.
Dance parties are a great way to get the wiggles out, have fun together and forget about the crazy stuff going on for a little while.
7 – Do a Scavenger Hunt
There are several scavenger hunts you could easily do while at home. You could do a scavenger hunt in your back yard or one in the house.
A color hunt is really easy to do – grab a piece of construction paper in different colors and have kids find things that are that same color. Some of our favorite colors to include are green, yellow, red and blue.
Alphabet scavenger hunts are also fun – have the kids find different items that start with different letters. You can have a paper with a different letter on each or a bag for them to add things to.
Inside a lego would work for the letter L or a crayon for the letter C. Outside things like grass work for G and rock works for R.

8 – Read Together
Read together and then read some more. Reading together is so important and it’s such a great learning tool for kids. Reading together is one of my favorite ways to help my kids learn the alphabet and make memories with them.

9 – Go on a Virtual Field Trip
While field trips are often a highlight of both public and homeschool kids, social distancing makes field trips hard. Luckily there are several places where you can enjoy a virtual field trip from the comfort of your own home!
There are so many fun virtual Field trips to enjoy – everything from visiting the zoo or aquarium to a trip to Yellowstone or The Louvre in Paris.
10 – Watch a Movie
Have fun watching a movie together, watch old family favorites or try watching something new. Disney+ has some fun new titles including Frozen 2 that was released early.
