Christmas is a magical time and a great time to take some fun holiday photos. Today I want to share with you some fun Christmas stockings and how to take a baby’s first Christmas picture in a stocking.
Our family has matching Christmas stockings from pottery barn with our names on them. Last year when I ordered the little man’s stocking I wasn’t sure what size of stocking to order. Our stockings seemed larger than normal so I ordered the large size. It is huge! So, this year we are ordering another stocking in the correct size (medium). The large size worked great to take a fun stocking picture!
Taking Baby Pictures in a Christmas Stocking:
Taking a picture of your little one in a Christmas stocking is simple. The hardest part is finding a stocking that is the right size. Our little guy was 8 months on his first Christmas when we took these pictures. He was a bigger baby and weighed about 26 lbs.
The stocking we used for his pictures was a personalized stocking from pottery barn. The stockings dimensions are 24.5″ wide x 14.5″ long. If your baby is smaller you have more Christmas stocking options.
For the pictures, we took our baby is only in his diaper, with clothes it would have been a really tight fit in the stocking. We really liked how the red Santa hat looked in the stocking pictures so we used it as a prop!
The background of our picture is simple, one was taken under the tree and the other on tan carpet. We found that the stocking pictures look the best when the baby is lying flat, not propped up.
