If you’ve been following along for long you know I love April Fool’s and making it fun for my kids.
We have a rule that April fools jokes have to be nice and fun for everyone. The big “joke” at our house is usually a meal or snack.
April Fools Dinner
My kids look forward to it every year and it’s a memory they often talk about. Over the years our April fools meals have included meatloaf cupcakes, undrinkable drinks, chicken nugget dinner and sugar cookie pizza.
This year for our dinner I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs. (I actually made this for our “real dinner” so the house smelled like pasta.
But the first dinner my kids were served was funnel cake spaghetti.
Funnel Cake Spaghetti Dinner
For our funnel cake spaghetti dinner I found an easy funnel cake recipe on Pinterest and made little funnel cakes for each person.
On top of the funnel cake were meatballs also known as chocolate rice cereal treats rolled into balls.
Our pasta sauce was thinned strawberry Jam and we can’t forget the white chocolate shavings for cheese.
To drink the kids enjoyed a glass of undrinkable punch…it’s an annual tradition at this point. The little kids forget and are surprised and the big kids think its so funny.
Ok so it might not have been the most convincing of spaghetti dinners, but the kids thought it was so fun and we all had a great time with our “joke” dinner for April fools.
