Eating Around the World at Epcot for $100

Looking for tips as you plan your trip to eat around the world at Epcot? You have come to the right place, I’m sharing tips and suggestions of foods to try in each country as you explore the world showcase.

Before our first visit to Epcot, I wasn’t very familiar with the park but since we have visited a few times it’s become one of our favorite Disney World Parks.

When I first started researching Epcot before our first trip, I saw a lot of posts and tips for Drinking around the world at Epcot and a few about eating around the world. Since we don’t drink alcohol eating around the world was a natural choice for us. Plus of course, we wanted to try all the different foods.

In this post, I’m going to share how you can eat around the world at Epcot (at quick-service restaurants and snack carts) for less than $100. If you can budget more or want alternative suggestions I will also share different food options for the different countries.

What is Epcot’s World Showcase

There are 11 different countries in Epcot’s world showcase. Each country has a pavilion with shops, restaurants, rides or experiences, and more. A visit to each of these different countries’ international pavilions at Epcot will allow you to “travel” around the world and get a taste of different cultures and foods without leaving the park.

The 11 countries with pavilions in the world showcase are:

  • Canada
  • The United Kingdom
  • France
  • Morocco
  • Japan
  • The United States
  • Italy
  • Germany
  • China
  • Norway
  • Mexico

Deciding what to eat in each of these countries can be overwhelming but don’t worry we are sharing the best foods to try at Epcot (in our opinion).

How to Eat Around the World at Epcot

Eating around the world at Epcot is fun and delicious. The hardest part is deciding what foods to eat. There are several different places you can get food in the world showcase. Table service restaurants, quick-service restaurants, food carts, and event booths.

For this post, we are going to be sharing foods that you can get at quick-service restaurants and food carts. This way you don’t need any restaurant reservations and it’s foods that should be at Epcot all the time.

During events at Epcot, there are always fun and different treats that are available during the event, so we wanted to make sure to share foods and treats you can find at Epcot year-round (unless they change the menu.)

To start eating around the world you can pick one of two directions to go. If you’re coming to the world showcase from the entrance you can either go right to Canada or left to Mexico.

Personally, we have gone both directions and its’ worked out great both times. On our most recent trip to Epcot, we actually started in Norway so we could do the Frozen ride and get some sweet treats as soon as the park opened.

After that, we headed back to Mexico and then around the showcase through Canada and ended in Mexico at the end of the night.

Once you decide which country to start in and what direction you are going to go exploring the world showcase simply pick a food or two to try in each country and you will eat your way around the world.

How Much Does it Cost to Eat Around the World at Epcot

An important question you might be wondering is how much does it cost to eat around the world at Epcot? Is the food free at Epcot? Sadly no the food is not free or included in your park admission. How much you decide to spend depends on your budget.

Personally, I think you can try plenty of different foods and drinks in Epcot for under $100. You can actually try something in each country for around $5. So it really just depends on what foods you want to try how much you need to plan on spending. A great way to be able to try more foods and save money is by sharing with others in your group.

Tips for Eating around the World Showcase

Start Early

That’s right one of my tips is to arrive at Epcot when the park opens and start early, especially if you want to be able to go on rides as well as eat around the world.

Explore More than the Food

Yes, the food and drinks are one of the highlights of Epcot but the rides and attractions throughout the park are definitely worth taking some time to explore.

Pro Tip: If you’re visiting Epcot with kids make sure to stop at the Kidcot spots in each country to get them a postcard and sticker.

Pace Yourself

Epcot is a large park and you will be walking A LOT! So pace yourself. Take time to sit down and enjoy your food, enjoy the performances, shows, and even a few rides.

Be prepared to walk a lot and wear comfortable shoes. On our last trip to Epcot, we walked over 7 miles.

Share

Eating 11 snacks might not seem overwhelming at first, but it can end up being a lot of food. One of my best tips is to share the foods you order in each country.

Not only will you be able to enjoy trying a variety of foods this way, but you can also save money. Plus you might be able to try more than one food in those countries where it’s really hard to decide what food to order.

Plan

If you’re planning to Eat around the World at Epcot print out the free printable at the end of this post to plan what foods you want to eat in each country. Or use it to write down and track what you end up eating in each country.

Eating Around The World at Epcot World Showcase

All the foods there are to try throughout the park is one of our favorite things about Epcot. Just be prepared to spend more money when you visit Epcot than the other parks.

We love trying different foods in each country. It’s been a great way for all of us to try new foods. Plus our kids have done an amazing job trying at least one bite of the new foods.

For our family of 4, we planned a budget of $100 to Eat Around the World at Epcot, this was plenty of food for our family. You can easily eat around the world for even less or a lot more if you would like.

First off I want to share some great food options for eating around the world at Epcot on a Budget. Then after I share the budget option and how much it would cost you (prices may change depending on when you visit but are current prices as of the writing of this post.) I’m going to share some of our favorite food items in each country, to give you more ideas of the different foods you can try.

Eating Around the World on a Budget

For under $10 per country, you could try different food in each place. If you want to try more than one food or have a specific food in mind that is when it can cost more to eat around the world.

After sharing how to eat around the world on a budget I will share more of our favorite foods in each country. But first how to eat around the world on a budget (the prices mentioned in this post are current prices without tax, prices may change so be sure to check before your trip.)

To start our trip eating around the world let’s start with Canada.

Canada

There are not a lot of food options in Canada. The only restaurant in Canada is a table service restaurant that requires reservations and a popcorn cart. The other food options are pre-packaged snacks inside the shops. There is also a refreshment port that is right before you get to the Canada Pavilion that does serve a couple of Canadian dishes.

maple popcorn in Canada at Epcot

Maple Popcorn

We decided to try the Maple popcorn from the popcorn cart. The maple popcorn tastes like caramel popcorn with just a slight maple taste. It was really good and our kids loved it.

Cost: Maple Popcorn $6.50 (If you have the Souvenir Bucket you can refill it with Maple Popcorn for $2.25)

Pro Tip: Get the Souvenir Popcorn Bucket your first day at Disney and you can refill it the whole trip for an inexpensive and kid-friendly snack. (You can even get refills in Downtown Disney).

United Kingdom

After enjoying some popcorn in Canada you can move on to the United Kingdom pavilion and a more savory snack. The United Kingdom has a few different options including a quick service and table service restaurant as well as a tea shop.

fish and chips in the United Kingdom at epcot

Fish and Chips

We decided to try fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. We all loved the fried fish and French fries. The batter on the fish was light and crispy and the fish didn’t have a fishy taste. It was probably our kid’s favorite dish and definitely something we would get again.

Cost: $11.49

Pro Tip: Not a fish fan or just want to keep the cost down? You can order a side of chips for $3.99.

France

There are so many delicious food options in France it’s hard to decide what to try. You can choose crepes, ice cream, or bakery items in France from one of the many quick-service restaurants.

Before deciding what to get should take a walk through the bakery to see all of the different pastries, bread, and sandwiches that are available.

Pastry

To stick with our budget trip around the world I would select the Pain au Chocolat (a chocolate croissant). It’s a simple and delicious treat and costs under $5.

Be sure to check out our other favorite foods and treats in France later in this post (it’s one of the countries I would recommend trying more than one food if you can)

Cost: $3.80

Morocco

The menu and items available in Morocco have changed since we last visited. This is probably a good thing since it was our least favorite country.

Assorted Pastries

Now they have an assortment of pastries at the Morocco Juice Bar. Each pastry is $2.50 and the more pastries you get the cheaper they are.

So if I was you I would try one of the pastries available at this food cart.

Cost: $2.50

Japan

In Japan, there are several different food options. On our first trip to Epcot, we tried the Kakigōri with Sweet Milk Topping and it was delicious and that’s what we have chosen to get each time we visit. On one of these Disney World trips, we are going to have to branch out and try something different.

Rainbow Kakigōri with Sweet Milk Topping is the ultimate shaved ice. It's a delicious cold treat!

Kakigōri with Sweet Milk Topping

Kakigōri is like the ultimate shaved ice the sweet milk topping is what makes it more than just a regular snow cone. There is an extra cost for the sweet milk topping, but we think it’s totally worth it.

The portion of shaved ice is a great size to share and even if it doesn’t look like there is enough syrup when you get your Kakigōri it ends up being the perfect amount.

There are several different flavor options including Rainbow, Strawberry, Melon, Cherry, Tangerine, and Blue Raspberry. The Melon flavor was our favorite.

Cost: $7.00 (without the sweet milk topping it’s only $5.50)

United States

Depending on how you’re feeling at this point on your trip around the world you may want to skip the United States Pavillion. We decided to skip the United States on our eating around the world adventure because we felt like we enjoyed a lot of different American snacks in the Magic Kingdom park at Disney World.

If you want to try something in America there are a lot of different options from Turkey Legs and hot dogs to Funnel cakes and The American Dream Slushy. The food from the new Regal Eagle Smokehouse smelled amazing and on our next trip, I would love to try that.

Specialty Drinks

If you decide to try something in the American Pavilion both the American Dream and Barq’s Root Beer Float would be great budget options.

Cost: $5.75

Italy

In Italy, the only restaurants are table service dining but there is a Gelati cart.

Gelato in Italy at Epcot

Gelato

We decided to try the Gelato cup which is two scoops of Italian Ice Cream. The chocolate flavor was recommended so we tried that and cookies and cream.

The gelato was good but not as rich and creamy as the ice cream we enjoyed in France.

Cost: $7.95

Germany

The Germany area in Epcot is set to be during Sommerfest. The quick-service restaurant is actually called Sommerfest. There is also a shop with Werther’s Caramel products and a table service restaurant.

Caramel Popcorn

We tried the caramel popcorn from the Karamell-Küche featuring Werther’s caramel and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it (I have a couple of other foods you should try in Germany I’ll recommend below.)

Cost: $6.99

China

China has a couple of different food options, the most popular is definitely the Lotus Blossom Cafe.

Appetizers

The Egg Rolls and Pot Sticker appetizers are a great way to try some food in china inexpensively. We have tried both the Pork Egg Rolls and the Chicken pot Stickers and they are both good.

Cost: $4.95 (egg rolls) or $6.50 (pot stickers)

Norway

Norway is home to the Frozen Ever After ride which was our daughter’s favorite so we visited this country a few times during each of our visits and have tried several of the available foods.

The Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe has some delicious Norwegian treats and it’s always hard to decide what to try.

Pastry

One of my favorite treats is Verden’s Beste Kake. It’s a vanilla cake with custard and almond-meringue topping.

Cost: $4.59

Mexico

In Mexico, we stopped at the Choza de Margarita. At first glance, it looks like they only serve drinks but they also have a few different food items.

tacos al pastor in mexico

Tacos

The first few times we visited Epcot we got tacos al pastor were delicious as was the side of Esquites (spicy corn). The tacos had a meat filling that was tender and flavor-packed topped with fresh pineapple and then wrapped in a fresh corn tortilla.

On our last trip, the tacos had changed to tacos de cochinita which was also delicious. I would definitely recommend trying the tacos from this little drink stand in Mexico.

Cost: $10.50

Total Cost to Eat Around the World at Epcot

If you eat the foods I shared above or others that are similar in price you should be able to eat around the world for about $75.00 before tax. So even with tax, it would be well under R$100 to eat something from each country in the world showcase.

Best Foods to Try at Epcot By Country

Each time we have visited Epcot we have decided to avoid table service restaurants and instead get food from quick-service restaurants and vendor carts. So this list of best foods to try in Epcot does not include any foods from table service restaurants. Also, I’m only sharing the best foods for the countries we have tried several food options in.

To start our list of the best foods we are going to start going around the world showcase with Canada, but you can easily start with Mexico or even skip a country or two and start in the middle.

Canada

If you’re only picking one food to try in Canada definitely get the popcorn. But if you want to try something different you should get the Poutine at the Refreshment Port right as you enter the Canadian pavilion.

France

France is the country where I want to try everything! There are so many tasty options and honestly, everything we have tried has been delicious.

Some of our favorite foods in France have been: Lobster Bisque with Baguette, Fraises (strawberry tart) Framboise (Raspberry Mousse Cake), Creme Brulee and Parfait aux fruits (yogurt mousse with berries).

Germany

I shared the caramel popcorn that we loved above, along with the caramel popcorn the large pretzels you can get in Germany are really good.

When we visited Epcot the first time a lot of people recommended trying the frankfurter. So we decided to get the Frankfurter served on a fresh-baked roll with sauerkraut and house-made paprika chips.

Frankfurter in Germany

The Frankfurter does not have an appealing color and the texture wasn’t our favorite but it did have great flavor especially with the sauerkraut and the pretzel bun was amazing! We also enjoyed the paprika chips. So depending on how picky you are about the texture of your hot dog’s it might be something worth trying.

China

Mongolian Style Beef Noodles are a must-try food in the China pavilion at Epcot.

Note: On our last trip, the beef noodles were not on the menu which was disappointing, but keep your eye out if they are ever available they are definitely worth trying.

While we were eating we noticed several people eating the beef noodles and they looked so good we decided to give them a try.

Beef Noodles in China

The Mongolian Style Beef Noodles were amazing. They had a little bit of heat but even our kids loved them. They had so much flavor and the beef was so tender. The noodle portions are a great size to share if you’re eating around the world. We will for sure get the noodles again.

Norway

Norway is home to the Frozen Ever After ride which was our daughter’s favorite so we visited this country a few times during each of our visits and have tried several of the available foods.

Since our first visit many of the menu items have changed and I’m sure they will change again. From the current menu, some of our favorite treats are School Bread, Troll Horn, and Verden’s Beste Kake.

Sven's Green Apple Cheesecake in Norway at Epcot

On our first visit to Epcot several years ago we tried Sven’s Green Apple Cheesecake and it was delicious. If you ever spot it in the bakery again, definitely give it a try. The cheesecake comes in a fun apple shape and is creamy and delicious. The apple pie filling in the middle of the cheesecake is delicious. Definitely a dessert we would try again.

Mexico

Mexico is one of my favorite countries to eat at in the world showcase. Everything we have tried tastes amazing and I always want to go back for more.

Some of our favorite foods in Mexico are: Elote, Guacamole, Empanada de Barbacoa, and Nachos.
