Inside: Editable St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt pdf file for a fun and easy holiday activity.
St. Patrick’s Day is one of those fun smaller holidays to celebrate throughout the year.
Growing up for me and probably most of you the holiday consisted of wearing green so you didn’t get pinched.

Now it seems that more and more people are including a trip from the Leprechaun or Leprechaun traps as part of their St. Patrick’s Day traditions.
We decided that we wanted to keep things simple but also fun for St. Patrick’s Day so we started having a scavenger hunt each year.
St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt
At our house the kids wake up to a little note and the first clue of the scavenger hunt. This makes it easy for me to get it set up before they get up in the morning.

You can do the scavenger hunt after school or any other time that works for your family.
Scavenger Hunt Clues
To set up the scavenger hunt I first decide how many clues I want to give. Then I start writing.
You can write your clues on any paper you have or use the free printable scavenger hunt template at the bottom of the post.

The template has the note and first clue on page one and the second page has six additional clues. You can edit all of these text boxes.
If you want more clues print more than one sheet of page 2. Make sure you change the clues before printing.
Setting Everything Up
After you have written/printed your clues you can start hiding them.

For me the easiest way to do this is start with the first clue read it and put it in the correct spot. Continuing with each clue. (I’m pretty much doing the scavenger hunt my kids will do.)
At the end of the scavenger hunt hide a treat. You can keep this simple or go crazy it’s up to you.

We typically do a little treat like chocolate coins or we have also done cool coins/money (dollar coins, 50 cent pieces, etc.) as the treasure.
Doing the Scavenger Hunt
You can do the scavenger hunt however works best for your family. With my four kids of various ages. We have a few rules.
The kids take turns reading the clues and then go find the next clue. They have to wait until everyone is there before they can read the clue.

Having a few simple rules has made it so feelings don’t get hurt and no one gets left behind in the excitement.
I hope you enjoy this fun scavenger hunt and have a fun St. Patrick’s Day!
