Each year on March 17th we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. It’s the holiday that most of us remember as the day we wear green so you don’t get pinched.

History of St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday that started in the early 17th century. The holiday celebrates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.
It also celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish People. According to Wikipedia St Patrick’s day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival.

Fun Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Kids
Here are some fun and simple ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with kids. Use all of these ideas or just do a few, it’s up to you!
Wear Green
Wearing green clothing, accessories and shamrocks are a big part of the St Patrick’s day celebration.
It was believed that wearing green made one invisible to the leprechauns.
Those not wearing green were visible to the leprechauns a fairy-like creature that pinches.
People started pinching those not wearing green as a reminder that the leprechauns could see them and would pinch them.
Eat Green Food
Though not traditional green food can be a fun way to celebrate St Patrick’s day. This can be simple just add green food coloring to a glass of milk or pancake batter.

Decorate
It’s always fun to do a little decorating for different holidays.
