Can you believe it’s already November? This year has really flown by! We have had fun celebrating wacky and random holidays this year so you know we had to do a post of fun holidays in November.
The main holiday in November is Thanksgiving if you live in the United States. So let’s see what other days we can find to celebrate in November.
November Holidays
These are not all the National days in November just the ones we thought sounded like the most fun to celebrate!
November 1: National Author’s Day and Men Make Dinner Day
For November 1st I had to include two national days National Author’s Day and Men Make Dinner Day, because I love reading and who doesn’t love it when men cook?
National Author’s day is a great reason to enjoy sharing good books with my kids and enjoying a favorite novel. Here are some of our favorite Fall picture books you might want to check out.
Celebrate Men Make Dinner Day by having the man in your life make dinner or take you out to dinner!
November 2: Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated November 2nd, each year. Learn more about Day of the Dead by watching the Disney movie Coco.
Celebrate Day of the dead by visiting graves of deceased loved ones, making their favorite foods and looking at their photos or by learning more about your family history.
November 3: National Sandwich Day
Celebrate by enjoying a sandwich for at least one meal today.
November 4: National Candy Day
If you didn’t get enough candy for Halloween you’re going to want to celebrate this holiday. Celebrate by making your own candy or trying something new!
November 5: American Football Day
Celebrate football America’s favorite sport by grabbing the family and some friends to play a friendly game or you know you could always just enjoy some game day snacks.
November 6: National Nachos Day
Celebrate National Nachos day by enjoying Nachos. It might be fun to have a Nacho bar for dinner so everyone can make their favorite nacho combination.
November 7: National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day
Did you know that almost 40% of the world’s almonds end up in some form of chocolate? Celebrate this fun November holiday by enjoying a dark chocolate almond treat.
November 8: S.T.E.A.M. Day
You might be wondering what the heck S.T.E.A.M. is, don’t worry I’m going to tell you. S.T.E.A.M. stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. These programs help find fun and engaging ways to teach the subjects to students.
Celebrate this holiday by doing a S.T.E.A.M. activity. It could be a fun Thanksgiving art project or science experiment. Or you could do an engineering project or countless other activities.
November 9: Go to an Art Museum Day
I’ll be honest taking my kids to an art museum does not sound fun. But you could easily celebrate by taking your kids to a children’s museum that has an art area.
November 10: Sesame Street Day
Did you know that Sesame Street has aired in more than 120 countries? Celebrate the show we all grew up watching by you guessed it watching the show. Or you could always visit Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando.
November 11: Veterans Day
Veteran’s day is a tribute to military veterans who have served in the United States Armed forces. This holiday differs from Memorial Day, which honors those who died while in service. Veterans Day honors all military veterans those living and those who have died.
Celebrate Veterans Day by learning about some United States military history. You could also make thank you cards to give to veterans you know thanking them for their service.
November 12: National Happy Hour Day
Happy Hour doesn’t mean it has to be alcohol. Celebrate Happy hour by going out to eat at restaurants with Happy Hour specials or you know you could always head over to Sonic for Happy Hour sodas, slushies and corn dogs!
November 13: World Kindness Day
This world we live in is fast-paced and can sometimes feel very lonely. Take some time to spread kindness. Here are a few simple ways to share kindness each day.
November 14: National Pickle Day
Celebrate the pickle on this fun November Holiday. You could enjoy the classic pickle or a unique pickle-flavored snack.
November 15: National Clean Out Your Fridge Day
I know no one wants to spend a day cleaning out the Fridge, that’s why cleaning the fridge is the last thing on our to-do list.
But getting the fridge cleaned before the holidays will make it much more enjoyable to try and fit all those yummy leftovers in every nook and cranny.
November 16: National Fast Food Day
Not that you need an excuse to go and celebrate this day but remember you just cleaned out the fridge yesterday so chances are you better grab some groceries while you enjoy your fast food!
November 17: National Hiking Day
National Hiking Day is also known as “Take a Hike Day” is a great time to get outside and enjoy nature.
Did you know that there are more than 60,000 miles of hiking trails across the United States? There are numerous locations that even have wheelchair friendly trails.
Which means nobody has an excuse not to get out and hike. So grab the family or a friend and get outside!
November 18: Mickey Mouse’s Birthday
Mickey Mouse made his debut on November 18, 1928, and ever since we celebrate his birth on the 18th.
There are so many fun ways you can celebrate Mickey’s Birthday. Here are just a few ideas.

- Have Mickey Mouse Party
- Watch Mickey Mouse in a classic short or one of the newer Mickey mouse shows.
- Learn about the birth of Mickey Mouse by watching Walt Before Mickey.
November 19: National Entrepreneur’s Day
Have you thought about starting your own business? Why not start today.
Even if you don’t want to start a business celebrate national entrepreneur’s day by supporting a friend, sharing a blog post on social media or doing a shout out to your favorite small business. All of these things don’t cost much but make a big difference to the Entrepreneur you support.
November 21: National Stuffing Day
November 21 is National Stuffing day and we all know stuffing is a big part of Thanksgiving. Celebrate National Stuffing day by trying a new stuffing recipe or having a stuffing tasting party. Or you know you could just search for a good stuffing recipe on Pinterest.
November 22: Go For a Ride Day
Celebrate this fun November holiday by going for a ride in the car, on a bike or anything else you want. Just get out and explore. Keep it simple, make it fun and enjoy making memories together.
November 23: National Adoption Day
Adoption is such a wonderful thing, through adoption children find loving homes and those who can’t have children are able to start a family.
November 26: National Cake Day
National cake day is the perfect excuse to enjoy some cake. So celebrate by making a cake or to make it extra fun, have a cake decorating contest.
November 28: National French Toast Day
Enjoy French toast for breakfast or dinner in celebration of National French Toast Day!
November 29: National Lemon Cream Pie Day
Do you love Lemon Cream Pie? Then this is a holiday you will want to celebrate.
November 30: National Mason Jar Day
Who knew mason jars could be used for so many things? Not only do we use them for canning, now they are used as drinking glasses, vases, candleholders, and countless other DIY projects!
