A few years ago we did a life of Christ Christmas countdown and it was a great way to keep the focus of Christmas on Christ. Then last year, our first Christmas with a fireplace we made a life of Christ garland to hang on the fireplace.

We keep our Christmas decorations fairly simple and I just love what the garland adds to our Christmas mantel.
Garland Supplies
To make your own life of Christ garland all you need are a few supplies you probably already have.
- Ribbon or twine
- Photos of Christ
- Mini clothespins

Life of Christ Garland
Putting together your garland is so easy, simply string a ribbon or twine where you want the garland to hang.

Then using the mini clothes pins hang the different photos of Christ’s life.
You can choose to use images specifically focused on the birth of Christ or you can use images portraying different times throughout his life.

For our garland I used some of my favorite depictions of Christ. Many of the photos I used are images of Christ with children.
There are several sets of small print paintings that work great for making this garland.

Ways to Use This Garland
You can hang up all the photos for this garland all at once and have it as visual reminder of what the Christmas season is all about.
Or you could put up the garland one photo at a time each day. My friend Justine has a fun printable Christmas countdown with scriptures to read each day that you would easily use along with this life of Christ garland.
