Can you believe it’s already back to school time and Halloween is just around the corner? If you’re looking for a cute Halloween craft to make with the kids you will love this paper mummy craft.

It is an easy craft for kids to make and is perfect to make as a Halloween craft or to go along with a mummy unit study.
The mummy craft is quick and easy to put together, the kids love it and it turns out looking so cute. Plus you probably already have all the supplies you need on hand.
Supplies
- Black Construction paper / Card Stock
- Gingerbread Man Cookie Cutter
- White Paint
- Marble
- Tin Pan
- Googly Eyes
Easy Mummy Craft
To make this craft the first thing you need is a mummy shape. I used a gingerbread cookie cutter to create our mummies.
Cut out the Mummy Shapes
First, we traced the cookie cutter on black constriction paper and then we cut out the person shape.

Next we taped the person shapes to the bottom of a tin pan. We put a small rolled piece of tape on the back of each cut out so it wouldn’t move around the pan.

Note: You can use a flat box, cookie sheet, or regular baking pan. I just like to use tin pans from the dollar store for our crafts and experiments to make clean up quick and easy.
Paint the Mummy
Now that your cutout is ready put a couple of little piles of white paint in different areas of the pan or box your cutouts are taped in.
Put a marble in the pan and have the kids tip the pan back and forth to roll the marble through the paint and paint stripes on their mummies.

Or you can put the marble in a small bowl of white paint and then drop it into the box/pan. Redip the marble as needed.
After the kids have enough paint on their mummies let them dry completely.
Give the Mummy Eyes
Once the paint on your mummy is dry let the kids pick a couple of googly eyes to put on their mummy.

That’s it your mummy is done, what you do with it now is up to you.
You can make several of these and hang them up as a fun mummy garland, let the kids draw a scene on paper and add their mummy, put it on a craft stick for a mummy puppet, or leave it as is.

It’s totally up to you what you do with your finished mummy craft.
