For the last few years, the kids have enjoyed making doing a cute pom pom turkey craft. But this year with them getting a little bit older I decided to change it up so we made a tissue paper turkey.
This tissue paper turkey is quick and easy to make and it’s a great activity for little ones to work on their fine motor skills.
Supplies:
- Tissue Paper
- Scissors
- Turkey Printable (get it at the bottom of the post)
- Glue
- Googly Eyes
Make the Tissue Paper Turkey
This tissue paper turkey is so simple, just print out the turkey printable from the bottom of this post. Grab the glue and a few different sheets of tissue paper.
Depending on the age of your child you might want to have the tissue paper precut into little squares. Mine are preschool age and liked helping me cut the tissue paper. They were done with the cutting before we had enough squares, so I helped.
Now give your child a bottle of glue and have them put a little dot of glue on each of the dots on the turkey. You can have them do one dot at a time or do 2 or 3 dots of glue before adding the tissue paper it’s up to you.
Have them get a piece of tissue paper and crunch it up and put it on the glue. Continue around the turkey until all the wings are covered.
You can let the kids do the colors of tissue paper however they want or if you want a little color practice, you could color the different sections before you start gluing. Then have your child match the color of tissue paper to the color of each section.
My kids really enjoyed making these turkeys and it’s something we will probably do for the next couple of years before it becomes too simple.
Printable Turkey
Please print as many turkeys as you need for personal use. If you have friends or family members who would like this craft please send them the link to this blog post not the printable.

What a fun craft for kids, and also a great way to learn about colour. It’s so nice to involve kids in decorating for Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing these sweet tissue paper turkeys, and for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party. I’m featuring this post at the party this week. Hope to ‘see’ you there!
Thanks for featuring my post!
