Favorite Valentine's Day Picture Books You need to read #valentinesday #valentines #picturebooks #valentinesactivities #kidsactivities

Being a mom I try and incorporate some learning in with the holiday fun, so today I want to share with you some of our favorite Valentine’s Day picture books. Let me know what your favorite Valentine’s Day picture book is in the comments.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse!

If you give a mouse anything you never know what you’re in for. This cute book follows Mouse as he makes valentines for his friends.

If your littles love Mouse as much as my 2-year-old does you should check out the If You Give a Mouse A Cookie Video Series on Prime.

Llama Llama I Love You

You can never go wrong with the Llama Llama books. They are short and simple rhyming stories with adorable illustrations.

Guess How Much I Love You

Ok so this book isn’t technically a valentines day book but it’s about love so I’m including it. This is one of my favorite books. It’s a book I grew up reading and it is so simply written yet touching. It’s a conversation between a parent and child expressing how much they love each other with distance.

If you haven’t read this book yet, READ IT! If you’re looking for a book for a baby gift, THIS IS IT!

Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch

This book is the perfect book for a valentines day read aloud. The story starts out with Mr. Hatch living a normal boring life until he getting a note that says “Somebody loves you”. This note changes his life and so many others.

This book teaches a great lesson to kids that what we think is powerful and that one person can make a big difference.

Love You Forever

This story is touching and since having kids it makes me tear up reading it. The story is about how a little boy grows to become a man and how his mother will love him forever.

I’ll love you forever,

I’ll like you for always,

As long as I’m living

my baby you’ll be.”

– Love you Forever

I Love You Through and Through

This is one of our nightly stories. This adorably illustrated book goes through the simple things we love about our babies. We love their hair and eyes, their giggles and cries.

The Kissing Hand

This book is perfect for valentines day as a reminder that no matter how far we may travel we can always remember the love we feel from/for our parents. This book is also a great one to read in the fall before school starts.

I hope this little list of books has given you a new book or two to read. I would love to hear what your favorite valentines day or love picture book is.
