Can you believe that Valentine’s day is just around the corner? February is a great time to cuddle up with those you love and enjoy spending time together. One of our favorite things to do is cuddle up and read Valentine’s Day Picture Books.
Being a mom I try and incorporate some learning activities in with the holiday fun, so today I want to share with you some of our favorite Valentine’s Day picture books.
Some of these picture books are ones I grew up reading and others are newly discovered favorites.

Favorite Valentine’s Day Picture Books and
Before I share our favorite Valentine's Day books let me just say that not all of them are specifically about Valentines, but they all have to do with love. I there are tons of books about Valentines and these are just a few of the Valentine’s Day book options out there.
This book is fun and will get the kids giggling and is also a great lead into talking about kindness and forgiveness.
This book has such a good message for kids. I love that not only does this book talk about how sometimes we are tempted to be unkind to others. But it also talks about making things right after we make mistakes.
We were recently introduced to the Love Monster books and my kids love them. These books are very simple and so cute. Personally I think the cute artwork makes the book.
The Crayons books are best sellers and kids love them. This Love from the Crayons book is very short without many words. While it's not my favorite Valentines' picture book it is cute and has a good message.
If you give a mouse anything you never know what you’re in for. This cute book follows Mouse as he makes valentines for his friends.
You can never go wrong with the Llama Llama books. They are short and simple rhyming stories with adorable illustrations. My kids love to read the Llama Llama books over and over again.
This book isn’t technically a Valentine’s Day book but it’s about love so I’m including it.
This is one of my favorite books. It’s a book I grew up reading and it is so simply written yet touching. It’s a conversation between a parent and child expressing how much they love each other.
If you haven’t read this book yet, READ IT! If you’re looking for a book for a baby gift, THIS IS IT!
This book is the perfect book for a Valentine’s Day read aloud. The story starts out with Mr. Hatch living a normal boring life until he getting a note that says “Somebody loves you”. This note changes his life and so many others.
This story is touching and since having kids it makes me tear up reading it. The story is a classic children’s book about how a little boy grows to become a man and how his mother will love him forever.
I was recently introduced to this book and it has quickly become a favorite. Lately, it has been one of our nightly stories.
The illustrations in this book are adorable and go along perfectly with the words as the book goes through the simple things we love about our babies.
A lot of time The Kissing Hand is a book suggested for back to school and the fall season but I think this book is also perfect for Valentine’s Day.
It’s a great reminder that no matter how far we may travel we can always remember the love we feel from/for our parents.
When I had my third baby last fall my Grandma sent this book to my kids and it's such a great book to talk to kids about feelings. It's perfect for Valentines and talking about all the things our hearts feel or any other time of year.
