Inside: Easy step by step hack to get hot water outside so you know how to make hose water warm!
There are a lot of different reasons you might want to make hose water warm.
Some of the reasons we love to make hose water warm is to fill up a backyard pool for the kids to play in on hot summer days and for bathing our dog.

For years we have been using this hack to warm the kiddie pool water but what do you do if you don’t have washing machine hookups?
How to Heat Hose Water
How do you get warm water in your garden hose? The most common answer I have come across for how to make hose water warm is to put the hose in the sun.
They say if you put the hose in the sun until it’s hot then the warm hose will warm the water.
Yes, it does work if you only need a small amount of warm water (since the cold water will cool the hose pretty quickly).

But it does take quite a bit of time for the hose to heat up and if the hose is full of water while laying in the sun the water can get really hot, so be careful.
While you’re welcome to lay your hose out in the sun and try that method of getting warm hose water, I have a quick and easy way to make your hose water warm.
Yep, that’s right you don’t have to wait for your hose to heat up to get warm hose water.

How To Get Hot Water Outside Hack
This simple hack will help you have warm or even hot water coming from your hose whenever you want.
Just imagine filling the inflatable pool with warm water, rinsing the muddy kids off with warm water, and even using warm water to wash the car or bath the dog outside.
How to Make Hose Water Warm
What’s the first idea that comes to mind when you’re thinking of a way to get warm water through your hose? For me, the first thought that comes to mind is using water from the sink.
Have you ever tried holding a hose up to the sink in your kitchen or bathroom so you can get warm water through it?

I have tried on several different occasions to hold the hose just right so that water will go through it. It has never worked.
The water bubbles out or sometimes even sprays out since the hose isn’t fitted tightly to the sink. And because it’s not a tight fit there is no pressure to push the water through the hose.
Luckily I found a simple way to get the hose to hook up to a standard sink so I can easily have warm or even hot water whenever I need or want it.
Adapter to make Hose Water Warm
We got this Garden Hose Aerator Adapter on amazon and it makes hooking up a hose to the sink so easy.
The adapter we purchased fits onto our bathroom sinks, but if that size doesn’t work there are several others available.

Once you get the adapter (1 to 2 days later thank you Amazon Prime!) it’s really simple to attach it to the sink.
For our bathroom sink, the first step was to remove the faucet aerator from the sink (you might need pliers for this).
After removing the faucet aerator we attached the garden hose aerator adapter to the sink. Again you might need pliers to tighten this onto the sink.
Once the adapter is attached to the sink you are ready to hook up your garden hose.

Hook up the hose just like you would to a regular garden faucet outside your home.
How to Heat Water from Garden Hose
Once the hose is attached to your sink faucet and the other end of the hose is outside your home you’re ready to turn on the water.
Turn on cold, hot, or warm water depending on what you need.
The nice thing about hooking up a hose to a sink is that you can easily adjust the water temperature until it’s just right.

I hope this trick for getting warm water in your garden hose helps you this summer. I know it’s a hack we will be using all summer long.
