It’s hard to believe how quickly the last month went but I guess time goes fast when you’re busy. October was a really busy and fun month for our family. It was filled with big changes, some fun visitors and some fun adventures.
If you missed it you can read about our month of September here.

October in Numbers
Let’s get started, I can’t wait to share with you all that happened in October.
1 Moving Truck
October 1st we picked up a moving truck and started loading everything from our condo.
4 Fun Visitors
We started out the month with Grandma and 3 uncles (my mom and brothers) come to visit and help us move.

1 Hour at the Beach
After picking up our visitors at the airport in Jacksonville we went right to the beach so we could get an hour of fun in before it got dark.
We had fun sharing our favorite part of Florida with our family. The waves were massive so we got in some good boogie boarding and a lot of splashing in the waves.

1 Big Move
The morning after our visitors arrived we finished loading everything and took off for Maryland. Our time living in Florida was short but we are so grateful for the time we had there.

We drove from Florida to Maryland in 1 really long day, hitting 7 states in less than 24 hours. It was so nice to arrive at our home in Maryland, even if we still had to unpack everything!
2 Corn Mazes
After arriving in Maryland along with unpacking we had to go on some fun adventures while Grandma and the Uncles were visiting.

One of the adventures we enjoyed on the weekend was going to a couple of Corn Mazes. We went to Misty Meadows Creamery and did both of their corn mazes.

They were both really fun but our favorite was the little corn maze with a fun surprise in the middle!
2 Factory Tours
Pennsylvania has several factory tours so we, of course, had to go learn how potato chips and pretzels are made.

The Utz and Snyder factory tours are free and very well done. Plus you can get some fun treats at the Factory Stores!
2 Battlefields Explored
The battlefields are a great place to take kids exploring. We visited both the Monocacy National Battlefield and Gettysburg National Military Park with my family.

If you’re visiting a Battlefield with kids be sure to get the Junior Ranger books, even if you don’t complete them it’s a great way to get simple information about the Battlefield.

6 Chocolate Rides
While we lived in Florida our kids asked to go on the Chocolate ride a few times so I guess it only makes sense that they went on the ride 6 times in October.
The Chocolate ride is a free tour at Hershey’s Chocolate World where you learn how Hershey’s chocolate is made. At the end of the tour you get free snack-size chocolate, the kids love it!

Our first visit to Hershey we did the ride 4 times (Grandma took the kids more times than mom and dad wanted to go!) and then we took a second visit to Hershey and did the ride twice.
1 Tasting of Turkish Delight
We took a day trip to Harpers Ferry and visited the fun historic candy shop. We decided to get some Turkish Delight to try since we had read about how amazing it was in The Chronicles of Narnia books.

17 Blog Posts
October was a busy and fun month and surprisingly I was able to get a lot of blog posts written. If you missed any of them don’t worry you can still go check them out. Save the ideas you like on Pinterest so you can easily find them next year.

1 Hike Along the Appalachian Trail
I really love fall family photos so once the leaves started to change in Maryland we set off on an adventure to find a great place to take some family photos.

We stumbled upon a section of the Appalachian trail that we decided to hike and found some great areas to take a few family photos.
The kids loved hiking, even though it was really rocky. So we will defiantly be exploring more of the Appalachian trail next spring.
2 Carved Pumpkins
It wouldn’t be Halloween without carving a pumpkin or two. This year we had an Olaf pumpkin and a Bowser pumpkin. I bet you can’t guess what our kids like this year?!?
1 Trunk or Treating Party
Our church had a fun trunk or treat party and even with a rainy day the kids had fun trick or treating around the church.

Halloween we planned on going trick or treating but it got postponed due to rain. So I guess trick or treating is going to be included in our November in Numbers.
How was your month? What fun adventures did you go on?
